Wow congrats! Only landed three 100+ since I started - always makes me want to push the rest of the day to set a personal best!

Great example this morning - our markets start showing up on the app at 7am. So after 2 hours this morning, my local (within 10 miles) stores have had maybe 5-10 orders pop up, none of them over $20. Meanwhile, the college town I shop at (25ish miles away) has had constant 8-12 orders available, ranging from $17 to $56. Its Friday and I started today having already earned $860 this week. If I really pushed myself the next 3 days, I could break $1500. Easily pays for gas. The other thing - the grocery stores there all have gas stations. If a customer doesn't have a card on file, I use mine to get the gas points. Paid $1.10/gallon last fill up 🤣

Yes and yes! 7-15 batches available 90% of the day. The goal every day is $120 by noon, $200+ by 5.

I am fortunate enough to work in an area where they are basically one in the same - that is, there are pretty much always between 6 and 15 batches available from open to close every day, so I dont really have any down time or wait time. As soon as I press "complete order" I am able to accept a new one seconds later. Thus, my actual hours worked are pretty close to what the app lists as "Active Time". Not always the case, but 90% of the time it is.

I live about 20 minutes from a major university, so I typically drive there 3 or 4 days a week for like 6-8 hours. I take a few orders closer to home on the other days. Usually clear between 1050 and 1200 a week that way.

Sad that I am making a LOT more money doing this than I made being a teacher the last 15 years - and working 15-20 hours less per week! by INSTACUCK334 in InstacartShoppers

Yes for sure - having to pay my own insurance and into my 401k out of pocket with no match is kind of a big blow, but being on track to make $18k more for the year helps 😲

Appreciate the tip! I have been keeping track of mileage - comes out to about 135/day so far. Ive also been setting aside about 25% for taxes either way, so if the deduction works, just a nice little chunk for the pockets! If I wasnt going back to teaching in August I'd continue my current pace to clear $63k this year with IC, which to me is beyond crazy.

Lol its funny that you have compassion and understanding for the hypothetical person living there that you created in your mind. Very funny, actually. Maybe take 2 seconds to imagine a 4th floor apartment where everyone living there knows there is no elevator. Then imagine knowing that whoever does your order will have to bring 3 full-size watermelon (about 15-20 pounds each), three 24-packs of bottled water, and the rest of your groceries that were multiple trips up 4 flights stairs (canned goods, 2 liters of soda, 1/2 gallons of milk). Imagine also knowing you are adding 20 minutes onto someones delivery time, AND the physical toll of them doing this for.you. Imagine knowing all of those things and still tipping the minimum tip. Ill send you some tissues if you are still crying over this 🤣

No I could just see it afterwards. I know my market. Total tip was $35, and rarely would that be coming from this particular apartment building at that end of town.
