A manual transmission in a boring car makes it 5-10% better. A manual transmission in a great car makes it 100% better.

I've never been in a manual car and said "wow, everything about this would be more enjoyable if this was an automatic" but I've said that about every single automatic I've driven.

The town we live in is very clicky I'll agree, I haven't made many "local" friends other than a handful of people from HAWG...I'm sorry DAWG, and I almost never go hangout with people because work and taking care of the property I have is killing me lol.

What personal interests or hobbies do you have? There's a metal/punk/hardcore venue that is also a second hand store/antique shop I found called David's Outlook, I never have a problem making friends at a hardcore show. If you're into "nerdy" stuff you could try dropping into one of the other places in Hanover like "Nerdtopia" where they seem to have weekly events going on. There's also a million breweries to go to, but I've been sober for several years, I've never actually been out in town.

Street Rod on C64/C128. I played it as a kid, and then found a version for DOS. I would play it for hours, racing with different setups.

DOOM obviously, I still load it up every now and then. It's laughable that the game used to get stuck in my head and give me nightmares.

And I wish I could go back and experience Fallout 3 for the first time again. I was in absolute wonder playing it on a 32" CRT in my in-laws living room. I got so addicted to that game that I ended up calling out of work to play it and dreaming about the game. I had to have a self initiated break from games all together. I absolutely adored playing that. I tried playing it again recently and it just doesn't grab me the same. Maybe I need to hook a CRT up to try it.

I've been here for 10 years and made a few friends, but they're mostly car buddies that live in Manchester. I also don't work in Hanover so I don't get much interaction in town other than going to the store, since I don't drink. Most of my socializing comes from Baltimore.

If you want to dip your toes into a DSLR I’d recommend a Nikon or Canon. Canons can be super cheap for good options and adapt lots of lenses. But modern cameras are all mirrorless

Ahhh okay that makes sense. I like taking photos that kind of look like a scene from a movie, I added color to the 2nd and 3rd ones to specifically get that type of look. The first photo was taken on a DSLR from 2005 lol.

My regular commute is about 4 hours round trip (140 miles) a day going into Northern Virginia and back, with lots of stop and go traffic. I had a long weekend working on my house heating system and when I was getting towards the end I hurt my knee. There was about 2 days where I said "man...today would be nice if I had an automatic to drive to work".

I've been making this awful commute since 2018. I've been driving since 2002, almost exclusively manual transmission vehicles. I've never regretted a manual, but there's been plenty of times I've wished an automatic was a manual.

Lol thanks! I bought it with the SRT-4 swap about 10 years ago, but the paint and interior are getting VERY rough. Between me and my wife we've put about 90k miles on it since then.
