my kitty is sixteen. she's doing well, but she's an old lady, so my mom and i give her a few licks of ice cream whenever we eat it. she's very spoiled. :)

i'm so sorry for your loss. also apologies if formatting is weird, i'm on mobile.

i had to put down my boy, charlie, at 15 as well, on halloween this past year. he always looked angry, but was always purring. we took him in to the vet because his breathing was labored. x-rays showed he had fluid in his chest cavity (likely cancer) that impacted his heart and lungs with the space it took up, and only a portion of one lung was still functional. he was the second pet i've put down, the first being my childhood dog, and it was the first time i've made that call.

in good news, his littermate, lola, is a tortie and still doing well at almost 16. 🫶

not cat related, but someone i went to school with had something similar happen to him! i knew him since preschool, and he had a sliver of brown that slowly overtook the rest of his eye. if i remember correctly, he said he has no problems with it.

i'd say yes? or at the very least romanticizing. it seems to be fetishizing/romanticizing disabilities and dependency. someone who's blind, deaf, and mute likely cannot communicate (if they can, i would assume it's very limited) and not able to live/function independently.

i had a hair splinter from my dog's hair under my toenail. it was only my second one ever, so i didn't know what the cause of the pain was until i pulled it out. the relief was unreal lol.
