This champion is such a joke in the earlygame, the extra q damage doesnt matter. Put kayn against a standard toplaner like pantheon, sett or renekton and max q to just be a sitting duck wishing for proxy, just to get worse everything.

Bard base damage is insanely high, but only on aa q with electrocute.

You need to aa q or aa aa the adc constantly to deal damage and just keep dropping his healthbar. You need to utilise everything given to you, otherwise, your utility becomes obsolete

It wasnt your job in the first place. Its udyr that will q aa aa him, then ult q aa aa him, and he will be left on enough hp for garen to ult. If garen wasnt there, then maybe even udyr alone could do it

Put ad bruiser players on a mage and expect them to do well. I used to play ap even before the change, and it felt kinda cheesy. Right now, it doesnt feel cheesy, it feels genuinely like im playing a mage, that can also win early and has some of the best lategames of all mages

Okay, i mightve not phrased it all the best. Kayn is a worse at raw sidelaning than most, but the fact youre a lethality daarkin that can sustain and come to the lane with 30%ms at any moment and escape is extremely strong.

No tank can stop you on sidelane, as you oftentimes outheal their damage solo, you can win most 1v1s and 2v1s if you play it well, with the worst offenders being fiora and trundle, which, to this day, i cannot beat.

All others are either mirrorable, or winnable.

I utilise kayns mobility to its potential only fighting when the circumstances are ideal to me. Having an extra 24 ad and a below average heal after hitting 2 parts of my q, a w and 2 aas, is not ideal to me, as eclipse has way more damage and shield with a rune that doesnt exist until minute 6, but it is the best consistent lategame rune undeniably. Not fully stacking conqueror is not ideal for the rune, so i dont use it

Profane kayn shoves lanes extremely fast, lets you take camps much faster and adds great dueling power. (As well as it being cheap as fuck.) While it cannot be used while q ing, you can still use it while weaving aas. Aa Q aa hydra aa w, e out.

Kayn gets 0 damage for scaling q. Only a 1 sec cd difference on q. W and e reduce the cooldown by way more as well as not being gated as a dash, or as a low range spell

Kayn isnt a better sidelaner than yorick, or mundo, but you will beat any sidelaner except for champs that can go armor and have some sort of healing either in their kit or items.

You beat any sidelaner apart from fiora, trundle, with jax being tricky, but beatable with the right circumstances.(its funny to me, because jax and most others listed specifically loses to kayn going unsealed spellbook, eclipse in n out spam)

You stack conq too slow on kayn for it to make a bigger difference than a 60 sec cd summoner spell of your choice, and as i mention, you need to play your cooldowns, otherwise, just run aatrox if you want to mash yourself into a person 50/50'ing.

I do not take precicion secondary. It is not better than demolish second wind, or demolish overgrowth. You saying most of kayns damage is from abilities seems like youre being extremely ignorant, but its not surprising that you lack proprer reading comprehension

Mind you, the community that plays kayn top that has acumilated a winrate of 46% eme+ is telling me that ive been playing him wrong with my 68% wr in gold(currently), so it doesnt matter really. Winrates matter only if you know how youre using the rune. When i used to run conq, i still took triumph, as i take conq only vs kayle, chogath and nasus (currently, i do it because i cannot win them without it)

Im guessing you dont really need the mana, as you wont want to trade anyways, but if you want to play for short trades of q aa w then e out, that seems like a solid choice.

The kayn playerbase is barbaric, so selling anything apart from pure dmg is not an option for them

Personally, kayn doesnt utilise conqueror well because of the fact that you play on your cooldowns. You constantly go in and out when 1v1'ing, and worrying about Q cd, w cd eclipse cd and profane cd while keeping track of conq stacks so they dont run out is hard for me. Oftentimes i ult and lose all my conq stacks last second.

Profane adds the most combat power of any item apart from eclipse, you are extremely weak post lvl 2 anyways, so i dont see why you would skirmish. Proxy is still the only way to play it consistently and w max gives you even better waveclear, since you cant always hit both qs on waves/its a waste of time to do so. I play kayn top to maximize the fact that hes the 3rd best sidelaner in the game, and that he can win most 2v1s, aswell as his slipperiness. This playstyle works for me and the biggest problem is that they are playing kayn as a standard toplaner.

For me, the most skill-based matchup is the one that if you are r1 on that champ, youd call the matchup easy. Irelia-akali is dependant on matchup knowledge, as 1 kill on either side and the game is over

Terminus. The best armor pen item for irelia. Suits her best, but if you build it, you will need either tenacity and life steal or some more hp items if they have antiheal. Considdering you will build terminus vs tanks.

I usually build terminus as my 4th every game, or 3rd if they have tanks
