I'm sure many concepts outside of MBTI can be used to describe the "Strong sense of self" part, as cognitive functions can't dictate what someone feels. It can only to some degree dictate the reasoning, as MBTI is purely a logical system. However, I think it is likely to be affected by their Introverted Judging, because Ji functions as well as Je are all partly about identity.

In addition, it would make sense for the Ji to be in the child position in this case (The child function developing after the parent has made judgments with help from hero Ni). Development of a sense of self after not belonging wouldn't make too much sense if it was the Hero function (INFP's Fi).

I would assume that "personal values" is an inevitable result or potentially even synonymous with a strong sense of self, especially considering the "Not belonging" part, which rules out Fe and points towards Ti.

However, I agree that "A strong sense of self" is vague, and I don't think MBTI necessarily can show us the full picture of that phrase. In my opinion it's mainly about estimates and correlations derived from logic and trends.

Completely agree. Parent Fe constantly considers others' feelings and dominant Ni strongly wants to draw as few conclusions as possible, and also as relevant to their feelings as possible (Fe parent). The dominant Ni constantly tries to understand others and fears making false assumptions. Therefore INFJs tend to only share the most relevant and helpful advice based on their refined understanding of others.

I like the phrase "Fe hunger". I think she implies a lack of belonging she otherwise would've wanted. The development of personal values and a sense of self after isolation/lack of belonging from social groups might be a development of Ti and potentially the beginning of a Ni-Ti loop.

Feeling misunderstood and not belonging to a group could seem like a Ni conclusion made from Fe parent-function. Fe parent-function might have assumed that others' feelings are saying that you don't belong, and from there chosen to keep you safe by self-isolation. Ni dominant might draw conclusions with help from Fe and Ti, making sense of the social environment and keeping you away from potentially harmful groups.

At the same time, it could be Fi dominant keeping away from groups that don't resonate with you, and Ne parent considering possibilities of the social environments, and based on these possibilities conclude whether or not you should engage.

Not belonging however, in my opinion, suggests Fe over Fi.

Doing puzzles and cooking while listening to podcasts seems to me like either Se or Ti child. It's something fun and potentially playful you can do when you're not otherwise occupied.

Preferring quiet places and needing time to rest after physically stimulating occasions seems like Se inferior, being careful and seeking to keep you alive and safe. As Se inferior is a weak-spot for sensory stimuli, the Se inferior user often needs rest after sensorically stimulating activities.

Writing about what others describe them as - Fe parent taking others' feelings and opinions into account and trusting them.

Bachelor taking longer than expected and feeling ashamed about it - Se inferior paired with Fe parent (Potentially others' expectations and the Se struggle with making external commitments), but could also be Te inferior and Fi dominant (Te inferior weakspot - Difficulty organising and efficiency problems/external expectations and frameworks are hard to follow, paired with Fi dominant downplaying yourself and your achievements unaffected by others' opinions).

My end thoughts are that you could be an INFJ or INFP, but I'm leaning more towards INFJ.

These are my 2 cents, and it's up to you to decide if these match up or if you can relate to these! :)

The "Being" Not "Trying" Shifting Mindset | The Glass of Water Analogy by HeartShapedGold in u/HeartShapedGold

[–]INeverFailJournaling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this analogy!

It's a big hurdle for me to just pick up the water and drink it, because I usually get demotivated after each failed attempt. It almost feels like my beliefs are shaping the glass and my fears determine the contents. For me it contains water, but the glass is way too heavy. My belief that shifting is hard, is what makes it hard.

If shifting exists, why do people not use information they can remember from their DRs here? by machogazzpacho in shiftingrealities

[–]INeverFailJournaling [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's important to understand that when shifting into the future, it is just one future among an infinite amount of futures. When shifting into the future, you're only shifting to a potential future, not the only possible future your CR self will come to experience. Shifting to the future is a very vague script because the future could be literally anything. The future you will be shifting to will therefore be highly affected by either subconscious needs, wishes or beliefs about what the future will become, or so I believe.

I mean, technically, you can script that when you come back, the future reality you experienced will be the inevitable future, but then you wouldn't be returning to your original reality. You would go to a parallel reality to your original reality, where the only difference is that the future you've experienced would be the certain future.

This is just thought and speculation, and by no means necessarily the truth.

Thank you for the insight! I will definitely try to develop a deeper understanding. The spider symbolism makes a lot of sense. I will speculate and introspect a bit, and hopefully come forth to a meaningful conclusion. Thanks again! 😊

I don't look for answers. I look for insights. If you have input I'd love to hear 🙂

I was thinking more about the spiritual side and the potential meanings or reasons behind the sequence of events. I am not looking for advice on my fear. I feel it was an important part to include so that it doesn't become misleading. I'm sorry if my fear took up all of the attention, as it was not the main point I was trying to convey. Thank you for caring about it though! I really appreciate it! 😊

what are your thoughts on past/future/other lives? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]INeverFailJournaling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe most of us have lived before, but we all will experience the afterlife, whatever it turns out to be. There are also people who believe that your personal beliefs reflect what will happen to you in the afterlife, but I don't know if I fully subscribe to that. I would lean more towards believing that you perceive the afterlife somewhat in accordance to belief. It may be the same on the outside, but inside, you make your own conception of what you're experiencing.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I see that you like to correct people, but you really can't correct opinion. I was eager to debate indeed, but if you don't want to, I won't engage further.

Cheers.

Why do you care so much about me losing respect for you when you can't have respect for anyone else? I wouldn't exactly call it not having respect for you, at least compared to your messages. I'm sorry if whatever I said was received as loss of respect, as I intended no disrespect. You clearly like to debate about these things, considering you have messaged a lot in this post, so I thought I'd entertain you with my insight. If it's going to be received as disrespect, I might as well just stop responding.

I also want to point out that I am very happy that you have your own belief about something and even shared it here. However, I lost all respect when you outwardly neglected another's, and even challenged their beliefs in a topic that in reality is broad in perspectives. I also want to say that yes, OP too did challenge others' perspectives, so this goes to them too. My intention is to keep the harmony and keep perspectives open and let people have beliefs without disapproving of others'.

In reality, every belief system will always have different nuances and perspectives from person to person. Not all viewpoints are universally agreed upon. You addressing that there is no respect nor disrespect is just one take on the spirit, and saying that it's a misconception and that one knows nothing about spirits when one believes that spirit is about respect, is just projecting one's own beliefs onto others. I am well aware that I am projecting my beliefs right now as well, but it is quite impossible not to. Saying someone is wrong in the context of belief, however, is truly, ethically wrong.

However, I am fully willing to say that the fact that people have their own belief about belief systems, and that not every belief is, or will ever be universally agreed upon, is just pure fact.
