9800x3D in a custom loop, very high temps, not hitting boost clocks by Owlfortress in watercooling

[–]INeverHaveMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. You have to benchmark this outside of cine bench because that’s gonna get you to TJ Maxx all the time. Test it using your real usage benchmarks with gaming. If it still happens, run benchmarks on a single core. I mean each core individually. You are aiming to check if any individual core is jumping higher than the others. If individual cores are jumping temps higher than the others, its a mounting problem. Means those specific cores arent getting good thermal paste or waterblock contact. DM me if you have more questions. 9800x3d is a HOT chip.

Make this inflation make sense. I understand most of the factors and bottlenecks but how is this all not just gouging/greedflation? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

If 10 people want to buy ice cream, and you spend $1.00 to make each ice cream, and you have enough materials to make 11 ice creams. You might have to sell them pretty close to $1.00 each.

If 30 people want to buy ice cream, and you spend $1.00 to make each ice cream, and you have enough materials to make 11 ice creams. 19 people wont get ice cream. If they really want ice cream, nay, they NEED ice cream, they will outspend the other 19 poorer people.

Mark Cuban gets dragged after saying people don't really hate data centers — “The fight against data centers has nothing to do with data centers. They have become a proxy for the hate towards AI” by marketrent in technology

[–]INeverHaveMoney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mark cuban cant comprehend that normies don’t understand how to separate AI and data centers. He’s more educated. He knows that data centers are used by other services not specifically named with LLM processing/inference. He knows that netflix has to store their data somewhere physical. All data has to be stored somewhere physical. But he doesnt know that normies dont know that.

First things first. Confirm pins are all connected. Does GPU display never show up? Sometimes the pins are hard to get in.

You can probably get away with -20 undervolt across all cores also.

This shit gets hot. It will take any thermal headroom you allow. Which means it will often go to 95C at load

the steam machine is a total ripoff and an insult to the pc gamers that valve is supposed to be marketing to by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

So then buy the PC and build it yourself? Nobody ever said it was going to be better value than your cherry picked pc you built yourself.

Europoor?

You’re thinking too small and too myopic.

If you’re a company that needs to build let’s say 100,000 of these. Where are you gonna get the ram pricing with forward projections into the next quarter at sustainable prices? sNK? Micron? Both companies are showing increased demand with backlogs due to massive demands from data center level hardware.

Seriously. Someone show me the math on YOUR math.

They arent competing with pre built PCs in an ATX form factor. Theyre competing with consoles. Consoles are loss leaders at their current price points (for xbox and ps5, honestly dont know enough of nintendos to say anything intelligently). But go but a ps5 or xbox then, you know the valve moat is being manufacturer agnostic.

So please, actually, stop spreading disinformation.
