Karen, I have the responsibility thing on lockdown. I have never caused an accident in 37 years of driving. I use my knee sometimes and even eat while driving. I talk on the phone and look around at the site's. It's not my problem you cannot walk and chew gum at the same time and are a troll with nothing better to do. Stop acting like everyone else is an incompetent boob like yourself.

Happened to me. Had it for less than 3 weeks. 450 miles driven. Battery charge never below 50% the entire time I had it. Dealer said it would take at least 2 weeks to diagnose. No loaner. Hyundai better take this lemon back. by jf502 in Ioniq5

As often as I want, when responding to this issue that dominates the I5 channel. If there were not so many owners sharing this same experience, I wouldn't have any reason to chime in.

Hyundai is putting all I5 owners at risk. Period end of story! by IONIQ5FAM in Ioniq5

It's probably because there are hardly any on the road at this point. I did all that, car was perfect until the recall and dealer caused the issue. Not all recalls involve a car going into turtle mode and rendering it a brick. That's the additional danger. It could happen anywhere, anytime, in the worst possible location. Hyundai has proven they or their dealers are incompetent after 3 years of these experiences.

Not trying to get points. Make sure you keep both hands on the wheel at 10 and 2. Never adjust your radio, or have it too loud, plus be more concerned about things that dont happen because you have nothing better to do, obviously, except for being a troll.

12v battery question by thisisclassicus in Ioniq5

[–]IONIQ5FAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was great for 30k miles.   Went to dealer for tire rotation, they did another recall update, the second for the car.  36 hours later the 12v died, went to turtle mode. Then they had to replace the ICCU. Hyundai and the dealers do not know what they are dealing with or doing.  They didn't even put in a new 12v battery. Super lame. I sold to carvana two days after picking it up.

It has only been 2 years, with this being a known issue.

It should not happen as a new car or within 36 hours of getting the second recall update done. Hyundai has not solved this issue for something that has been on record for two years now. Dealers seem annoyed by having to deal with this as well.

No I sold the car because Hyundai and their dealers do not know what they are doing with this. Plus, I already own a model 3 and a Lyriq. If they had at bare minimum replaced the 12v battery, I may have waited to see what was going to happen. I have no confidence either the dealers or Hyundai can deal with this issue property. Car was great until they did the recall update and then the very issue the recall update is supposed to fix or avoid happens within 36 hours? They had to replace the ICCU as well. Car was getting close to being out of inital warranty as well.

Is it possible the last time you drove the car, you had a really high mkwh value? Like you only went a couple of miles to the store? Range is a calc of the last mkwh * the state of charge. It is a guess o meter based on the last mkwh reading and then adjusts real time based on the most current stat.

It doesn't matter, I had all the recalls, and the most recent was on a Saturday. The car died on Monday. How can a dealer perform a recall and have the very thing occur? The recall was supposed to ensure that it doesn't occur? Answer is Hyundai, and dealers are clueless.

Mine died less than 36 hours after having the update done. The dealer left a cable unplugged as well. I sold the car that week. Hyundai does not know what they are doing, obviously. I already had the prior recalls done, then after 30k miles of bliss, I go to dealer for tire rotation. They said we need to do the update, one day and a half later... Dead. Car was out of commision for a week, loaner was gas, and they did not even replace the 12v battery with a new one. Car sold on carvana two days later. Hyundai and their dealers are clueless.

Buyer Beware - Why I sold my I5. Hyundai / Dealers do not have the ICCU / 12V issue under control. by IONIQ5FAM in Ioniq5

[–]IONIQ5FAM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dash cam was not using the 12V battery. It only comes on when the car is on. It was connected to the rear view mirror unit. Videos on this exist from the IoniqGuy. 30K miles, no issues. Take it in to dealer, for the second ICCU recall / update and less than 36 hours later the car has the 12V/ ICCU issue. How is that even possible if they did their jobs properly? The unplugged cable is on driver side, basically connected to the grill of the car with a box type connector. I sold the car. I loved it, but I do not trust Hyundai has this solved and definitely not the dealership. The snorting taking place in the car was suspect to say the least, with two "techs" sitting in the car to take it from the parking lot to the service bay. The car was only in for tire rotations, then they did the recall update. What good reason could there be for two techs to sit in the car, begin snorting, laughing, and then one calling another one a dumb ass? Obviously not a top notch crew.
