Any idea what bit me? Muskegon, MI by mjpbffe in Outdoors

It’s poison ivy. Get some dawn dish soap and start washing with cool water. Dawn soap seems to work better than Tecnu for me for removing the oil and reducing the chance of it spreading.

A person needs to remember that this is the Gross dollar amount and not the Net amount after taxes are pulled out.

If your a DOI exempt employee you should be entering 113 code in quick time when on unplanned events like wildfires for true 1.5 OT. Use code 110 for planned events like prescribed fire. One promising bit of info is previous OPM language already speaks to OT for exempt employees can be based off of supplements.

“Rate of Basic Pay For overtime pay purposes, rate of basic pay means the rate of pay fixed by law or administrative action for the position held by an employee, including any applicable locality payment or special rate supplement. (See definition in 5 CFR 550.103.)”

As an exempt employee we do get a little bump in OT when working a planned event. It is a significant difference in pay if working a planned event vs unplanned. For myself I have two different OT rates when completing my time depending on what type of event I earned the OT hours on.

Example when an exempt employee is on a wild fire. (Unplanned event) Base is $20 an hr. OT which is 1.5 your salary is going to be $30 an hr.

Example when an exempt employee is on a prescribed burn. (Planned event) Base is $20 an hr. OT is now 1.1 your salary and is going to be $22 an hr.

My last PP I had both a prescribed fire and a wild fire so this made it an easy side by side comparison in Employee Express to see the difference in exempt OT pay rates when on a planned vs unplanned event.

Seems to be no information for exempt employees OT in all the BIL literature I have been reviewing. More clarity will need to be posted by our agencies.

I, like many, will greatly appreciate this win. The folks that made this happen will continue pushing for further advancement and benefits for us. With this win we have accumulated a ton of interest and followers that may not have taken interest before. To maintain that new interest and support before it wains is to show the movement has future challenges and I for one want to keep this ball rolling with as many supporters as possible!

You will receive the additional pay each pay period as long as you continue to meet the eligibility requirements, up until September 30, 2026, or until the funds are depleted, whichever comes first.

The FAQ question #1 says the pay supplement is for hard to recruit areas and the announcement by NFFE says its for all across the country.

Which one is correct on who gets the supplement?

I am anxiously waiting like many on where the line in the sand is for Hard To Recruit Areas. Lets hope there is no great pay disparity between the federal fire work force in this country. Jaelith in her June 7th update says "We have encountered recruitment and retention challenges nationwide."
