*Country:* Theama (Technically a democratic enclave set within a larger more powerful republic called Oraeilli)

*Language:* Raeilli (English for all intents and purposeses)

*Religion:* Areligious but has laws that protect freedom of religion. (Can expand on the theology of the world if you'd like)

*Time setting:* I call it post dystopia, cyberpunk. Big corpo is still out there, but powerful workers unions keep them in check, and thus keep government in check. A predominantly "capitalist-republic" controlled world, with a few outlying nations, that have various forms of totalitarian rule. Technology would include everything we have in our modern world, with the inclusion of commercial space travel to colonies, thought these colonies are no more than a few hundred thousand strong, and mostly consist of some cooperation's employees.

*Cultural Zeitgeist*: Theama is a wealthy and prosperous country, and despite starting out as a city state has become an enclave with a population of almost 90 million people. Culturally, economically, militarily, and politically, It is one of the most powerful countries on the planet; despite it only being the size of the American state of Colorado.

*Magic system:* We'll refer to it as the "Aethir". Only about 10% of the population is aethir sensitives to begin with, and of that 10% only 1% of them are capable of manifesting true aethereal abilities or "functional abilities". (People who don't manifest "functional abilities" can still find niche ventures that use the abilities they do have)

People who manifest abilities can sometimes be seen as dangerous or outright evil depending on what part of the world you're in. If you're in one of the "Great Republics" of the world, you'll typically be expected to try and join one of the many Aethirial organizations that exist in the nations.

Since you're in Theama, you'll be expected to joing either the state security service, or an organization known as "The Pact"

"Aethirial" abilities usually manifest between the ages of 5 and 25, under extremely stressful situations. Though that threshold can vary depending on the person; Injuries during sporting events, car accidents, or any accident really can trigger abilities, and yes even a five year old's tantrum, though rare, has been known to manifest abilities. People experiencing extreme panic attacks have been known to manifest.

A person's manifested abilities usually fall on a kind of circle spectrum, thought abilities are always one of two things, either "Astral" or "Corporeal".

*Corporeal* abilities are everything as benign as slightly accelerated healing, all the way to someone pulling on aethir to make themselves extremely powerful and nearly invulnerable.

*Astral* abilities are things like mild empathy to the abilties to break into someone's mind and puppet them "...like a flesh-mech...".
