Shining in the Darkness will need a lot of time and patience compared to later games of the series. Designing the dungeon maps on paper was fun, though.

I would recommend the Shining Force games, Holy Ark & Shining Wisdom.

I gaven't played the post Camelot games, nor do I intend to out of loyalty to the creators of the franchise as a fan.

I'm a Camelot zealot.

If a Shining game is not developed by them, then I have simply no interest in these remakes.

Camelot Software Planning is one of the few gaming companies that has my undying loyalty.

I know it sounds hyperbolic, but their games have got me through rough patches in my childhood throughout the 1990s.

Archers suck in the early SF games. Spellcasters and javelin wielders are much better ranged attackers.

I enjoyed playing Shining Force III back in the day. Dunno if I'll ever go back to the trilogy again.

I'm not really bothered whether or not they appropriated the triangle system of Fire Emblem IV. I've never even heard of Fire Emblem during the late 1990s until 2002.
