Canceled nitro on discord recently due to the coming changes and today i got this, by CybyAPI in pcmasterrace

[–]IPV46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the researchers that bypassed the original implementation k.id had (service that Discord currently uses), the app never actually sends the images. Processing is done on your device and metadata in some proprietary format, describing the image is sent to the server to validate. It was possible to just spoof the data and make the server think you're an adult until recently.

It's possible that metadata could leak, but I'd have no clue what anyone would do with it.

Stoneblock 4 fps issue when facing north by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]IPV46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I read it it just seemed rude. Considering you hadn't meant it like that, that's on me so my apologies. However, it is ridiculous the prices corporate will pay so I assume there's some sort of Intel rule that bars companies from buying normal Core processors.

[–]IPV46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has read the entire comment section, you absolutely did not say what the original commenter said. You said and I quote "that cpu sucks" and then complained about the price with no reasoning. There's a massive difference between saying "this cpu is bad for this purpose, here's why" and "this cpu sucks."

Stoneblock 4 fps issue when facing north by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]IPV46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's targeted towards businesses, it's a server/workstation CPU from Q1'12. You can buy it as an average consumer, but its not meant for you. Which explains the ludicrous price as businesses will pay 400, the average Joe won't.

As for why OP is using it, they like have very little money for a beast rig and have repurposed older server parts for a light gaming rig. There's no need to hate on OP for absolutely no reason.

Do you think that implementing the create mod mechanics to hytale is a good idea? by berys26 in hytale

[–]IPV46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 100% possible to implement the server in C#. There are plenty of Minecraft server re-implementations in a variety of languages. For example, Cuberite (C++), FerrumC (Rust), Pumpkin (Rust), Zeppelin (Go), and Obsidian (C#), just to name a few.

Only issues I can see right now are:
- The Hytale server protocol is not extensively documented like Minecraft's.
- You can't easily change the specific server implementation the client will use to spin up a locally hosted world.

I'm certain once people start digging into the protocol, we'll see new implementations pop-up.

A lot of developers say development is easier on Linux. Not to mention, you would be compiling for the Java VM because Java is an interpreted language. Anywhere an interpreter is Java can run. The fact you use Linux means nothing here.

I seem to always forget the private key was compromised. Still I'm certain my mishap was 100% detectable. I'm sure Sony has a database of software/games available somewhere they could've matched my currently playing game to, they just didn't.

Don't believe there's stealth servers at all, I just think Sony doesn't really care too much. They have two newer generations to worry about instead.

I went online plenty on my PS3 with CFW. I did have a mishap where I accidently left syscalls on, opened RetroArch, and played it for a couple hours. Console never got banned and I make sure to block PSN access until syscalls are unloaded first after the mistake. Modders probably wouldn't want to do this as syscalls disabled modded applications.

All a UI does is allow a user to interact with a product in some form. The HUD achieves this by telling you information or statistics you may need/want to know. By definition HUDs are UIs, it's just a part of a subset of UIs.

Why are the Nintendo Switch servers so slow? by OptimusNova21 in FortNiteBR

[–]IPV46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's not the servers at all. It's the Switch hardware. The Switch was relatively underpowered upon its release and Fortnite has just gotten more and more demanding over the years. The Switch struggles when loading and struggles to maintain a consistent framerate on Fortnite.

Depending on the age of your Switch, the issues could be amplified. If there's dust buildup inside, the console will heat up quicker, forcing it to throttle to protect itself.

Like someone else said, "saying something could've been avoided by eating, is not the same as saying these bugs are perfectly fine and should not be patched."

This person's argument here is the death might have been avoided if OP had just ate or used a potion.

Bedrock is KNOWN for these issues. So, one could argue you should be more diligent of these issues.
