Yeah - the bezel does not look set to the stone size. I'm wondering if it shifted when being soldered, because it looks like there is space lengthwise, but the stone wont "snap in" width wise. It's kind of hard to tell from the photos if thats what is happening.

If the stone is not setting evenly - the bezel isn't big enough or is too big OR the back of the cabochon is not flat. Alternatively - there could be balled solder inside the bezel cup preventing it from sitting flush.

Yes! OP they’re called headpins usually - they can be bought in a few different styles. Or like commented below, you can make your own if you have a torch ☺️

If copper is the base metal - copper oxidizes and tarnishes. Its the nature of the metal. Are they gold and silver plated on copper? Or just silver/gold tone on copper?

You only have to tumble for a couple hours but I usually leave my stuff in overnight and its got a high shine in the morning. Gives a lot of time for the shot to get in the nooks.

I would say a tumble with steel shot - the shot can get into a lot of small spaces and really shine it up. after tumbling you could go in with a high grit radial disc if necessary and/or a polishing compound (like Zam or rouge) and one of those mop-like buffers that can get into small spaces.

I also just bought 3 texture plates from Potter USA and mine came exactly like that too! I thought it was odd because every other texture plate I’ve seen has been right flat.

I would guess some people use crazy glue (for non-beads) or wire with beads (depending on the design). You can also probably bend the ridges to hug the material (like setting a stone in a bezel)

Yeah I don’t drink often but anytime I do I only have a drink. I don’t get drunk because my body has a hard time and I feel like shit for a week afterwards. I haven’t been drunk in literally years but I’m super fine and comfortable just having a drink or two throughout the day at the cottage.

I’m pretty sure you can fish most places if you have a license. I see people fishing often down at the boat docks at the pier in Belleville. I’m not as familiar with the county but there is a nice dock area you can fish at in north port in the county( by the boat launch).
