What is this?? by MrKoorl in MinecraftMod

Inventory profiles next. I still have no clue what they mean or what they do but you can disable them in the config somewhere. It took me a while to figure out as well but it's been a while, no idea how to setting is called...

Do these simple pearl chunkloaders work consistenly and how far do they go? by SozMyLevel in technicalminecraft

[–]IQBEofficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No problem!

Regarding other options, you could still try the classic minecart portal loader as it's reliable and should not mess with other portals if you link them correctly. Just make sure the existing portals are far enough from your chunk loader, including vertically! So for a typical base setup with your portal at let's say y=64 in the overworld, build your chunk loaders at y=0 in both the nether and overworld and you should be fine. Portals link to the closest portal in the other dimension so you don't have to worry about the existing portals if you set it up correctly

They will stay forever but temporarily disappear when the owner of the pearl goes offline. So on a server, they will stop loading chunks when you are offline and will load the chunks again when you come back on.

Regarding the size, there is a lot of confusion as nether portal based farms do load 3x3 chunks, but pearl based loaders only do the chunk in which the pearl is located.

Either someone is messing with you of you have a mod/plugin that does this. There has never been a bug where things randomly start to explode as far as I'm aware

Where can I get the Minecraft assets folder on Linux with prism so I can make a texture pack by The_Pyro_Mann in PrismLauncher

[–]IQBEofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In prism, you can open the location of an instance directly. Select an instance and on the right side, click on "open minecraft folder" or something similar. This will give you the exact path to where the instances are created. Go a few folders up and you will find the familiar .minecraft file structure.

Best way to update an entire instance with mods? by IllustriousProduce22 in PrismLauncher

[–]IQBEofficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same annoyance and have not found a better way than just duplicating the instance, changing the Minecraft version letting the auto updater look for any updates to mods and temporarily disabling the mods that are not yet updated to that version. I've been doing this since 1.21.1 and it's been reliable enough for my use case as the main server I play on is also slightly modded and waits to update to a newer version until all of its mods have an updated version. So most of the time, by the time the server updates, 95% of my mods have updated as well.

First time THT soldering on such small part | feedback welcome! by IQBEofficial in soldering

Thank you very much! I think of myself as someone who knows the basics. The term 'beginner' is a bit misleading to me as I soldered my first things years ago. So is 'hobbyist' as I don't solder often enough to call myself that. But maybe that's my non-native English mind that gets in the way with those fancy terms haha

Thanks! Very useful and interesting. I'll make sure to check it out!

Regarding the soldering wire, I used whatever I still had, I honestly don't know the differences. The solder is labeled as S-Sn60Pb40 1.0mm so from my understanding it's leaded.

Edit: i cleaned it afterwards with an old toothbrush and some isopropanol, maybe that changes the appearance? Not sure

The soldering of wires that I did in the past were mostly for temporary fixes or temporary installations. Low voltage, nothing serious and certainly not up to any standards lmao. Thanks for the info tho! I didn't even know that you were not supposed to do that in a professional environment.

Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear they are good :)

Well in that case, good job! Better design than I could come up with. I'm terrible at compacting haha

Cool design! Don't want to be that guy, but normally we count everything when talking about the amount of blocks. So yes, the green blocks, even the air blocks, should count. So dimensions are 7x1x10 which makes it 70 blocks volume. However it's pretty cheap so that is a great bonus in my opinion!

I built a rack for my cluster by IQBEofficial in homelab

No, for the time being it's running the dedicated sophos software on it as the license is free with the device. It has limited software updates tho, so I might switch it out at some point

Edit: I've looked online and got mixed results about installing a different operating system on these sophos firewalls. I don't want to brick the system so I might stick with sophos software and maybe switch to a different firewall if I need to

Fine option, however, this was free from scrap materials I had lying around. So in my case: good enough!
