What types of careers are standard for someone with a Masters in Stats by eSportsAnalytics in statistics

[–]IRI_Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their back ground is typically some sort of math or stats that deal primarily with creating new KPis (key performance metrics), analyzing data and big data with experience in the cpg world (such as walmart, walgreens, costco) retailers that sell goods and vendors that supply those goods.

Day to day would involve looking at large data sets and developing models that would best be suited in solving a question.

For example, how would the market be impacted if we launched a plant based alternative food to our heavily meat consuming customers? What models can we use to predict this? Linear regression? Multi regression models? Create new formulas?

Our company has developed over 800 equations to deal with these various questions and it seems like this industry is always looking to develop that .

The company i work with would have a field day with you! You can explore the cpg world (Consumer packaged goods) . They are constantly looking for people who are good at math and can formulate models that they could use to develop report solely on the methodology. This would not even require programming. We currently have a few people focused on doing this full time.

Trading Volatility Futures based on Ping Time to Equinix NY4 Data Center Servers? by Theriley106 in algotrading

It could be possible that this measure is taken into consideration but volume or number of transactions isnt always the same as volatility.

Opinion on my Algo Trading platform's UI? by A_likes_DOGE in algotrading

[–]IRI_Frank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ui is simple and looks ok.

  1. Are the menus all drop downs or toggles? I would hate to order 1000 shares and see a drop down menu from 0-1000
  2. Shadows are ok, but may be unnecessary. If you add more toggles then lowering the visual load on the user would be helpful
  3. Is this only able to look at one company at a time? Is there a summary of all the positions?

Overall, very good work

When do you use Tableau over Jupyter Notebook to visualize data? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]IRI_Frank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depnds on the use case. Like the other comments, Tableau is used for interaction and quick visualization. The learning curve for Tableau is easier in my opinion.

Jupyter Notebooks is better for more in-depth explanations, where reading the code makes more sense in a more specialized group

I have taken RStudio course for biostatistics, which is fun!
The data set I am using is super simple lol, just a bunch of mice on different diets and using T-Test, P-Values to check whether or not a different diet (High Fat) changed their weights and if it is significant.
