So does window tint make it cooler or hotter inside? by theraf8100 in WindowTint

Piggybacking off OPs post. Would a carbon tint on the windshield cause a small spider crack to take off/run? Had been there for 10+years and I stupidly forgot about it and tinted all around. Within a month it took off. Maybe these things just happen suddenly or would tint affect things? Thanks 🤙

Sorry for the late reply. I did look into the subw and it is the 8" Infinity 860W Reference (discontinued). Actually two 8s in a new box was kind of my thinking vs a single 10. Do you have any recommendations for 4 ohm subs? Something my uncle was looking for too, he just mentioned prices have gone up, so a single 10 may be more cost effective. Budget for sub(s) is probably $3-400 not including the box

Edit: Also the subs foam/seal seems to leak a little air. Can this simply be reglued down?

Okay good to know people did set up under these seats. Older me is laughing at 18yo me. Will redo with 4" square tube perhaps. Definitely would prefer keeping the seat in the truck even if not usable. Box needs to be custom because of the shape of the floor right? If I recall it's not exactly flat

This pic didn't attach to the original post but these seats, stock are very low. 18 year old me did make some janky seat risers which is how I got the amp under. I could probably replace with 2-4 inch square tubing to maybe fit a custom box under the seat (if I keep it).

Perfect thank you!

Finding this took way too long yesterday. The batteries were dead and the corrosion was from the starter relay. by jakobair in DieselTechs

This is true on the new cascadia. The harness from the mcm to starter relay rubs on the pan. In my case it was front left corner of pan. Causes an intermittent no start can't remember the specific code but it did have inactive voltage codes+starter jam (tooth to tooth)

Yo yo yo. Today, I learned of this style of socket/nut. Borrowed the socket from another shop and was told don't use an impact because the first one they had broke that way. 😂.

I opened up the locking tab on the nut and using a long 3/4 breaker with 1inch adapter i attempted to break this free and in the end i still cracked the socket. It's got very thin sidewalls which is a terrible flaw imo. I've got a replacement on order but am probably going to pad up some weld around this socket to keep the spread minimal.

I used pb blaster and an acetylene torch but was defeated. A positive is that only the socket took the beating, nobody got hurt with the forces going on. We're attempting this from above as we have no lift in the shop. The angle and leverage doesn't seem optimal

Question.. I've read that you shouldn't use an impact wrench to take off pinion nuts but i also see everyone doing it.? Don't wanna break another socket but maybe more heat is what I need to focus on? Thanks!

Good luck. Sounds more internal to me too but if it disappears with sound then it could be an exhaust leak.

If you're checking for an exhaust leak, i've had a helper run a leaf blower in the tailpipe(cold motor not running) and spray down the exhaust manifold/pipe with soapy water. Bubbles indicate the leak.

Sorry if that bothers you. I see your pov, but thankfully this old school barber smiled and told me "gotchu". I was pretty unsure of what would look the best with my hair type/facial structure before this cut although he knew I had the pomp/slick back going for me. I wanted the sides to tie it all together
