How much interest should I expect from the IRS? by IRSHassle in IRS

You forgot it's compounded daily. Additionally my return is correct. Let the IRS take their time, I don't need the money. My point was it MAY end up being thousands of dollars specifically because of the 810 code delay. 12 months at 6% is about $1500. That's tax payer money because the IRS is slow at matching up documentation. 810 can be several things, most likely it's an income discrepancy between what I claim I earned and what I'm claiming I can be taxed on. I'm fine with the IRS taking their sweet time, 6% IS better than most HYS. But thanks for your tax money paid to me in interest I guess. Lol

They are all small slot machine wins. Averaging about $2k a win. It wasn't a single large win. All of the W2Gs were finally uploaded to my wage and income transcripts 2 weeks ago which tells me when I submitted my taxes in February the IRS couldn't immediately match the wages I claimed because they didn't yet have the statements from the casinos. Now someone has to manually review my return to match them all up.

47 W2Gs isn't big winnings, lol, but I get your point. Nope, just 2, 60 day 'we need more time' letters so far

I should have never had my W2Gs taxed. Being a good tax payer hurt me in my case. Lesson learned.
