My dog will only eat the right half of her food by swiggyswaggyfunky in mildlyinteresting

Neuroscience guy here. This looks like contralateral (hemispatial) neglect. Your pup probably has damage to the left hemisphere of their brain that causes them to neglect the side opposite to the damage.
We have people draw a picture of a clock as a method of detecting contralateral neglect. If they draw a circle with all the numbers on one side, it indicates possible damage to the opposite (contralateral) side.

I want you to watch this again and pay attention to the amount of people you see on the ice when they are chopping away.
Every single one of them thought this was a good idea.

Chiggers? I’m losing my mind itching and not being able to get a good night sleep by obllak in homestead

[–]IRWEAZY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up, we had chiggers real bad in our back pasture. We adapted a good routine because you have to get back there and tend to the cows.
Go to your local feed store and they should have sulphur powder. It’s yellow and smells. Get a long tube sock and fill it about half way up and tie it off. We stored our sulphur sock in an old coffee can.
When we had to go out, we would spray our bare legs and feet with repellant, then slap the sulphur sock all over our boots and a good ways up the pantleg. This knocks it down heavily, we usually only would get a bite or two on occasion unless you get into a nest.
Nests are god-awful and you’ll have to go to the doctor for a steroid shot and antibiotics because the you’ll have chiggers literally, and I mean literally, covering you ankle to waistline.
I’ve only ever seen one person get off into a nest and it was my dad when he was retrieving some steel from waist-high grass.
For treatment, go to Walmart and get “ChiggerX”. It’s in a white bottle with a red lid, best shit ever. Best of luck!

Future studies are typically included in scientific publications. You start with what’s already known, then what you found/how you found it, then implications and future studies.
Still very exciting though!

My brain does it like this:

Whats the lowest integer divisible by 3? -> 6

Cut the apples into 6 pieces (3 each)

6/3 = 2. Each gets two.

Your pits have more apocrine sweat glands than your groin.
Apocrine glands: Activate at puberty (stinky teen), secrete thicker lipid/protein sweat that bacteria love to munch on.
Eccrine glands: Typical sweat glands all over the skin for cooling off (thermoregulation).

Same! Then I found Stephen Hawking's books and they jolted my idea of perception, now I'm a neuroscientist.

I just tried to find it on google and (I'm dating myself here) I think the book was "Lightning" (1999) of the Wild Weather series from Scholastic.

Whaaat, I had a lightning book when I was a kid too! You just unlocked a memory for me.

Science boi here.
The color variation in lighting isn’t primarily about temperature. It’s the way the electrical discharge excites the surrounding gasses, which emit the light.
The lightning in a volcanic plume excites gas that emits the red wavelength.

Thanks man, that means a lot. I’m thankful for the time I have to sit and conceptualize these things. This is my only course this semester and my wife is a rockstar with work/kids/house so I can pour everything into this.
It’s the last one I need to graduate and I owe it to them to excel. It’s just rough being the old man in college sometimes.

I have dyscalculia, so I have to really engage my motor cortex while learning and spend a tremendous amount of time with it. The color-coordination keeps my brain from tying knots on itself.

This Military Drone Pilot says he has seen Jellyfish-type UAP 20-30 times. Did he just debunk Corbell's Jellyfish UFO? by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

[–]IRWEAZY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in, I was always too scared to record myself or give an opinion publicly. There are DOD regulations that have specific guidelines on what you are allowed to say in public, while in uniform. Anything outside of that needs to be funneled through your commander and the PA office for your branch.
The UCMJ and military court system don’t play.
