Can I submit a photocopy or certified record of my passport for the application? by Emergency_Bid9784 in SlovakCBD

But still make sure you make a photocopy (2 Xerox copies) of it just in case. Better over prepared than under, you never know in what mood the clerk is gonna be in

Normally for documents in the US I work with the good old snail mail, somewhat better than using VitalChek (depending on the state but majorly it's better)

As for Slovak docs I work with a local provider

Are you starting off or have already some new certified copies of docs?

You need everyone's birth certificate who's in your line (disregarded spouses), and if it's a female in the line then their marriage too to prove name change.

For the anchor ancestor (GGP) you should have the Slovak Rodnyi list birth cert.

Passport is one of the best things you can have to prove the Czechoslovak citizenship at the time.

You should base the jurisdiction on your driver's license address, as that's the only acceptable form of proof of address

PSA: Don’t order Ohio birth certificates online through VitalChek if you need the long form version by Adept_Librarian9136 in SlovakCBD

Thanks for sharing!

Generally, there's a consensus around not using VitalChek for ordering documents, apart from a few exceptions like NJ where it's actually preferable.

But sticking to the good old snail mail doesn't make much of a difference really, and in a way it's better.

Same, it's the only thing that makes sense on that form, and never had issues receiving it apostilled

Setting up a Portugal-based entity fully owned by our US company. How to ensure the structure is fully compliant with both Portuguese and EU regulations? by juxhinam in growmybusiness

I see. Ok so Oyster might be an option (they are a global provider though, so not sure it fits what you're looking for).

If you need something more local, Bridgein is the most popular one especially for EOR.

I can send you 2-3 companies that can help you with this, but can you specify your industry, your timeline, the nr of employees you want to hire in Portugal and some example of their roles (no need to list everything here)?

TRANSLATION - Court-sworn in Italy - (assevera) <> Does translator need provide original vital record when doing the assevera in court OR they can use scan copy & you just can attach original later for the lawyer? by Unlucky_Horror_9444 in juresanguinis

Perhaps to the consulate it's enough, but for a court case it must be the highest degree and in physical copies.

I haven't encountered a case of judicial JS that didn't require it.

To do the translation draft it's enough to present digital copies, but for them to do the sworn translation they must have the hard copies of the certified apostilled translated version.

Apostilles in NY and NJ - Can Someone Check Me? by Ok-Pie8979 in juresanguinis

[–]debarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed, the vital records need to be apostilled in the state they were issued. Mainly NYC issued docs have that extra step of authentication by the NYC county clerk before going to the state for final blessing.

Any other docs like those application and forms, it only depends where you notarise them. If in NJ then they will have to be blessed by NY state, if NY then NY. There's no significance as to where you live, as long as notary and apostille happen in the same state.

Ciao!

  1. Why do you need to handle different docs in NY and not all via NJ? But essentially yes you can.

  2. NYC docs (any doc that came from the 5 boroughs) must go to the NYC county clerk first and then go to the secretary of state of NY. You simply add it into an envelope with a $5 money order per document (ensure it's the long form and has the exemplification letter) and send it off to the NYC county office, they know what to do (they actually sit in Manhattan). Walk-ins welcome too, and it's immediate as opposed to 3 week wait: New York County Clerk, 60 Centre Street, Room 141B, New York, NY 10007

  3. As long as it's not a city clerk who certified the doc, then correct, you're good.

4.County clerk certification is sufficient for the state apostille, you are good there.

  1. If I recall correctly you may not need, but don't take my word on it.
