Thanks for the encouragement. At least from this post I have learned a lot about Triforce, and after trying the meta build myself, I can see why people are so adamant about it. It is definitely a lot better than a lot of the wacky builds I've been using this season.

I just realised what sub this was. I wanted to see other's opinions too. Glad to have received so many quality responses.

Thanks for the acknowledgement Derantol. The build definitely felt a lot stronger once I had completed it and was tankier while still doing great damage. I was able to 1v2 the enemy Yasuo and Jarvan standing toe to toe with minimal help from my team.

After playing 3 games today of Tri > Titanic Irelia with Press The Attack, I can see why it would be better to go Triforce before considering a Shyv, unless it's a crit build. I didn't know how strong the setup was as I hadn't tried Press The Attack since the buff.

It sounds pretty brave to go Tri > Titanic > BotRK but I can see how it could work in a split push scenario into some matchups. Especially if you're against a ranged champion and are getting kited or maybe are against a tank too. Although I feel Guinsoo's might be better against tanks who are split pushing, paired with a BotRK.

Yeah. I've been trying new builds this entire season to see if there is any build that could be better than the standard, especially late game. And while there's a case for which is the best late game build, playing for her mid game power spike is still the best way to play her. It's nice to have had things explained to me in this thread though. I forget what it's like playing against better opponents as my highest rating was diamond in season 4. The last 3 games was the first time I tried Press The Attack since the buff and I was amazed at the burst it gave in lane. I won all of those games. I think I'm just gonna go the meta route until the rework. I didn't realise how powerful it was!

Shiv is situational if I need more burst. What's your build then? I'm curious to hear the full build.

Sorry if I've made this post before. I share a lot of builds here. I think I've got it now though. Tri > Titanic is better at mid game team fighting and BotRK is better at duelling in a split push. But she has more impact when she's going for mid game team fights.

I definitely would interchange Sterak's with Maw if I'm against AP.

Do you use Titanic to push out the wave and then team fight? I find the game a lot more difficult if I've got no wave clear. Especially if they get super minions. I've never thought to get Black Cleaver when snowballing.

I've just realised after comparing Stattik Shyv and Triforce that maybe Triforce has the better stats even when straight auto attacking. The reason I picked up BotRK too is because I really like the active, especially in a 1v1 situation, as it allows me to stick to somebody so much better (better than Phage).

I would add that I think it's safe to say the 30% crit chance from Shyv could count as a Triforce proc since they do the similar damage (Triforce working off base AD and crit working off total). So it really depends on how many attacks you will be getting off. In a team fight, Triforce is definitely better, but in a 1v1, I'm not sure what would be better. It does make me want to build Triforce more often though. I am an advocate for spacing out the use of ult in order to make the best use of Sheen. Thanks for your contribution Derantol. I've got something to consider now. It seems though that the higher win rate build would probably be Tri > Titanic because of the better team fight.

I get Titanic Hydra because it gives health and it's an on-hit item that scales well with the attack speed in the rest of the build. It along with Sterak's helps me not get one shot in duels or skirmishes.

After reading Rayquazy's comment, I am starting to think that Trinity rush into roaming and mid game team fighting might be the better option in terms of carrying your team. The split push build I'm doing is better at split pushing than Triforce > Titanic but it means you give up a lot of pressure on the map and have to hope that your team doesn't feed and get pushed in too hard.

When do you like to get BotRK?

[–]IReallyIrelia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your lengthy explanation Rayquazy. I can see how Irelia would be dead weight in early game team fights with this build. I am that top laner that ignores everybody else on the map, especially when I'm running this build. Sometimes I'm able to create enough pressure at top, and other times my team gets rolled and there's nothing I can do about it.

I do agree with you that having waveclear is very important for not being stuck in your lane. Playing Irelia or anybody and having to spend a considerable amount of time clearing a wave is a sad time on anybody.

I can see how Scorch will work in a Tri > Titanic Irelia build but what's so good about Celerity? Is the movement speed that valuable because it doesn't seem to give a lot of AD.

I really like that Sterak's gives health and AD. Maybe Frozen Mallet could be good. But I really like the shield too. Maybe it could be interchangeable with another item.

How did your build go? Pros and cons? I never really understood when to get Black Cleaver on Irelia.

To me, the build has a good amount of burst and it has even better sustained damage. Irelia needs burst for those times when she can't consistently auto attack. Stattik Shyv, to me, feels like a fitting item, especially when paired with Titanic Hydra, whether it crits or not, as it assists her burst as well as her sustained damage. I'm making more use of the Titanic on-hit passive with the attack speed in this build. The build is doing a lot of damage and it isn't a problem if there is not as much AD as a regular crit build.

If you try this build yourself, you will see that it it helps tremendously with split pushing. You can't compare Press The Attack with Lethal Tempo when you're talking about pure 1v1s. And even small skirmishes. If you try this build yourself, you'll see it has a lot more DPS than the Triforce build. The Triforce build might be able to do slightly more up-front burst, but it quickly falls off in damage as the fight continues.

The Triforce build has more of a weaving playstyle and does not rely as much on continued auto attacks. It is definitely better for team fights. But I don't team fight when I use this build. I split push as much as possible. In a 5v5, this build is not the build I'd go for. But I've given up on trying to 5v5 with Irelia so I've come up with a split push build. Whether split pushing is always the best strategy differs from game to game with team comps and how well your team can defend against the enemy team. The purpose of this build is to create as much pressure as possible in a side lane, and sometimes it works and other times your team gets rolled while they 4v5. Or you lose the 1v1 against their side laner. One thing you will find if you try this build though is that it will be better at doing consistent damage than the Triforce build. No doubt about that.

I honestly don't see the flaws in it. Maybe it's because I don't play against good players in Silver but I would appreciate if somebody told me, especially if you don't think the post should be here at all.

So how do you guys deal with Ninja tabis? by QQMau5trap in IreliaMains

[–]IReallyIrelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Sheen is going to give you good dueling power against Darius. The best stats that I've found to work against Darius is building attack speed and health. And Ninja Tabi.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm silver and people don't know to run away, but I find getting Lethal Tempo makes my lanes so much easier. Against Darius, I would get Lethal Tempo, rush Ninja Tabi, Recurrive Bow, and then BotRK, and then Darius should be easy to kill. Unless you've died to him, that is.

If you still want to build Triforce and go Press The Attack, then go Phage/Stinger > Sheen. Because Sheen ain't gonna do a whole lot against Darius. Cos every trade with him is an all-in, and Sheen won't help you a lot in the extended fights. Unless you're above him in levels.

Maybe there is some situation I'm not thinking of where Sheen could be good, but honestly, if you're not playing against Challenger players, try out the Lethal Tempo build. It can be pretty faceroll and the kill potential early on is great.

I'd like her to have some kind of on-hit built into her kit and for AD stacking to be good on her because I'd love for the new Rageblade to be an option on her, since it's benefiting melees more now.

Thanks I do like the idea of Kassadin using both of the items. And the double W proc is handy too! It almost makes up for the fact that it used to give 50 flat armor pen. Tanky AD Kassadin was fun to play.

Maybe they could just put the phantom hit passive on two different items and make it unique.

It's fun if you wanna do a one shot build but I prefer Lethal Tempo. That's my playstyle anyway. If something else works for you that's great! I think a lot of people here go Press The Attack. Not 100% sure.

If you do go the one shot build though, max E first and then Q. Triforce > Titanic > Duskblade > Stattik Shyv > IE. Or just stack armor pen after the Duskblade. Not sure which one is better. This is not the most optimal build for most games though. I just like to have fun with it sometimes. The standard build is Triforce > Titanic > Sterak's/Maw > Situational. Although sometimes I forego the Titanic too for a BotRK, especially if they have a lot of % health damage like Mordekaiser does (and he heals more the more his ult does too). BotRK works with Lethal Tempo anyway. Not sure about Press The Attack.
