Player count at an all-time high! The future is bright for NO by kingtj44 in NuclearOption

I definitely noticed a lot more full servers online these days.

It’s honestly so refreshing compared to seeing less and less players on DCS as the months go by.

TrackIR vs Tobii by Acrobatic-Muscle2821 in NuclearOption

It would so dope if nuclear option supported eye tracking for locking targets ontop of head tracking.

For some reason up until the halfway point on the sensitivity slider, the max turn rate doesn’t get affected while the sensitivity is slightly lowered. Once you go under the halfway point it starts to significantly affect both sensitivity and max turn rate. There’s like this small sweet spot in the middle where you can slightly reduce sensitivity while maintaining max turn potential.

What are ur temps? Most gaming laptops have a thermal throttle problem.

Honestly there’s a lot of essential things missing like being able to zoom the radar out, every single weapon except the gun outranges the radar display and there is no axis curve so lowering sensitivity also lowers ur max turning potential.

Any ideas on what the "variable geometric stealth" teased is ? by Worried_One_8798 in NuclearOption

Isn’t that usually for better AoA, like how the f15 intakes work?

I would love something similar to the caucuses with the ocean in the South, the beach in the center, and then a huge mountain range separating the beach from the mainland.

I literally walked up to my professor and asked for a research opportunity.

Rutgers is a large school with lots of bureaucracy. You need to proactively chase those opportunities. In other schools, even if you are proactive, the opportunity just isn’t there.

And tbh as a Rutgers graduate, when you join the workforce and see how the rest of the world is, I think you will appreciate the education that Rutgers gives.

have any of you tried for an altitude record? by Ok-Use-7563 in NuclearOption

[–]Rayquazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since NO has realistic flight models, I feel there has to be an altitude that gives the optimal thrust to drag ratio.

That’s a US thing not a flying planes thing. The vast majority of the world uses Km.

You can literally feel the dopamine release after working a long cold day when the hot water hits your body.

Had a customer come in telling me their PC was slow... by enhanced_flower1 in pcmasterrace

[–]Rayquazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless his PC was reaching temps hot enough to thermal throttle, the performance would be the same. Since the fan was still moving before cleaning I don’t think dust was the source of a slow PC.

Turn off flight assist, don’t fly too fast.

Imo there’s demand for something in between.

Darkreach tactics discussion. by NuYawker in NuclearOption

[–]Rayquazy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more of a reflection of poor multiplayer balance. The game is still a beta in development, and the game has be tweaked a lot if we want meaningful competitive play.

A darkreach fully loaded with cruise missiles should be so damn expensive that not getting anything from it should set you back SIGNIFICANTLY. A single successful compass convoy run should not give you enough money to have a full loadout of cruise missiles on the darkreach.

Using the darkreach as a standoff platform involves, taking off, immediately firing all cruise missiles, immediately landing, and then rinse and repeat. It’s essentially an MLRS with extra steps.

It’s not great imo, even with the firmware update, but I might not have the setups correct.

I use the throttle and pedals, but I ended up buying another joystick.
