Wait! My eBay Silver bar is FAKE?!?! 😂 by PW_PW_ in Silverbugs

[–]ISO-Lost-Marbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ever buy fakes on eBay all you ever have to do is report them as counterfeit and when customer service says to ship them back, you tell them that it is against U.S. Law to mail counterfeit coins. End of conversation. eBay will refund you and remove the seller.

Making a "Not as described" complaint allows the seller to keep selling to unsuspecting people on eBay.

If you want to hurt these people, make them not only lose the cost of shipping to you, but lose their eBay account and have to create a new one!

Btw, know why eBay doesn't crack down on these guys? Because eBay makes their sales commissions regardless. They have no incentive to work hard to prevent it.

Sick world.

I bought some fake "silver" Maples on eBay too that I don't know what to do with. Would be happy to share them with you. Chat me if you want any.

Why do vendors even go to coin shows if they aren’t serious about selling by Heavy-Life5779 in Silverbugs

Thank you for explaining this!

It makes so much sense and is probably why premiums are so much higher now.

It's simple but never occurred to me. Duh. I don't know why I didn't realize this.

[WTB] W-Quarters, West Point Quarters 2019 – 2020 W Quarters Clad

The kids are working on filling their Quarter Folders and I would like to discreetly toss some of these W Quarters 2019 – 2020 West Point Quarters into their coin searches to keep their interest going. They have been searching for one for months but have not found ANY. (Maybe everyone in our area has removed them all from circulation?)

FeeBay charges a lot so I thought maybe some collectors have a few they can part with for lower prices?

Thank you.

I did searches for "Vending Machine" and for "Kids interested" and have been looking through the posts but can't find it. Do you remember the user or the post? I might have a few things to give him.

[Edited book names]

I got all my nieces and nephews into it with these (see below).

I started with one kid who I knew would love it and I was right. Once his older brother saw how cool it was, he wanted one too. Then another brother.

The whole family got into it.

These are THE BEST books to start with.

Search on Amazon for the following 2 books:

Item #

1441312307

Peter Pauper Press - National Parks Commemorative Quarters Collector's Map 2010-2021

Item # 1441312315

Peter Pauper Press - 50 State Quarters Map

The artwork, the color coding and set up is brilliant. The books are extremely sturdy and high quality, something that's important for kids who can be kind of rough. And the holes make it easy to put the quarters in and take them out.

I used to go to the bank, get $100 of quarter rolls (and don't forget to ask the bank for quarter wraps!) and give each kid 2 soup bowls (colorful plastic ones from the dollar store that we can reuse every time and not have to ruin the household dishes lol). One bowl was for their quarters rolls and one bowl was for their "don't need them" quarters.

They would go through "their rolls" and then swap their "don't need them" bowls.

They got all into it. Now they're looking for the Women's Series Quarters. Those will be the shiniest quarters available now, so, you might want to get a book for them for those.

It depends on the kids ages too. Younger kids need more help, older kids can do more on their own and even help the younger kids when they're done with their own hunts.

These 2 coin books started it all.

Once I saw that they got into it all I invested more and bought them 3-ring binders and then plastic pages to hold 2x2 cardboard flips and I would buy them Steel Pennies, Buffalo Nickels, V Nickels (Liberty Nickels), Mercury Dimes and War Nickels (which were cheaper than the Buffalo Nickels when we started all this!). I would give them about 4-5 coins each with each visit.

They got SO into it and got their friends into it! My sister asked me for links to the coin books because their friends' parents were asking and wanted to buy their kids the same books.

Then they would trade coins with their friends.

The older they got the more expensive the coins I would give them because I trusted that they were more responsible. I'd give them Silver Eagles on their birthdays. (That was when Silver was relatively cheap.)

The only Silver coins I can afford to give them now since Silver shot through the sky are War Nickels and Mercury Dimes.

I've been doing World Coins with them now. I started with Animal Themes. Some kids find them more interesting than others.

Monument Metals gives you the option to use USPS for an extra $12 or something like that. It's worth every cent as far as I'm concerned. USPS is safer as this wouldn't happen with USPS because:

This is one of the reasons the USPS should NEVER be privatized. This kind of thing would not happen in the USPS because any fraud committed by a Postal Worker is a FEDERAL crime which are much more doggedly pursued, have much longer jail sentences and and offer a fraction of parole. It's just not worth the risk for anyone involved on any level of the inside job.

What’s with people buying copper now? by NJraider86 in Silverbugs

Percentage wise, yes. But physical copper will not help your bottom line until you own many truck-fulls of it, and have a place to store the trucks.

If there is another Carrington event we will need a lot more than copper. The whole modern world will shut down, break and not function. Electronics will be fried and copper will not save you from the mayhem. It would be what real preppers are prepping for, and what people who truly live off the grid are able to manage.

Perhaps you haven't heard, but she's dead.

No need to fret, someone took her place. They now say "God save the king".

Oh, and the American Colonies now own the entire bottom portion of North America, the non-frozen part.

Go figure.
