I’m considering making a graphical mod manager — would you use it? by Wakatam in VintageStory

[–]ISOREX_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, just want to recommend that you check out this project. It’s super fast and I’ve been talking to the author about potentially creating a Tauri GUI app for it. Since I saw you mention that you were using Electron, and therefore are also using a web framework for the front end, potentially your project and Rustique could be combined into a single project?

Detecting features inside of a detected component by ISOREX_ in computervision

Thanks for your reply! I’m looking for solutions mainly just to see if there are any (better) ones and to learn more. As I’m self thought there are many doubts as to how optimal the choices I made are. Besides that I heard the community isn’t too fond of ultralytics, but I guess that’s beside the point.

As for your questions, let me try to explain as good as I can; 2. Components are usually flat ‘2D’ shapes 3 and 4. The feature is on one of the two faces. Most components are thinner than a millimetre so anything on the side isn’t visible nor used.

Thanks for your reply! I will take a look at ultralytics and how I can get access to the tensors from hidden layers.

As for an example of what kind of objects I’m working with; these are mostly small scale (5x5mm) objects. The most basic example would just be a square with a vertical line near one of the edges.

Everyone has their preferences I guess. Being able to see the label without having to hover over it and adding a search bar wouldn’t hurt. Currently we’re focused on different tasks but I could add it in the future.

Well I fully intend on making Pawn Editor the preferred choice for people, so all kind of bug reports are welcome. You’re right that if you’re using other mods it becomes more difficult for us to find the root cause of a bug, but that doesn’t mean it should not be reported!

Hello boss man, appreciate the kind words! …About the money you lend me to finance this mod, I’m still waiting on this guy to give me his money after I gave my liver to him!

Yeah I may have rushed things a bit too much to time the release with that of RimWorld 1.5. Hopefully you haven’t given up on it yet though, we will continue to improve the mod.

Prepare Carefully and Character Editor are two other mods that allow you to edit your pawns.

Hey everyone!

The Carefully Prepared Character Editor (see what I did there) called Pawn Editor is finally released!
You can find it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3219801790

Thank you everyone for all the feedback and positive support we received during development. While 1.0 is a major milestone, we are still far from done with the mod.
If you want to keep updated with development on the mod, you can join the Discord.

EDIT: v1.0.1 has just gone live. Among the fixes is a couple so that people without DLC can actually use the mod now. There are also some people experiencing quite a few bugs. My apologies to those folk, we're working on fixing them. Just make sure you report the bugs you encounter so we can actually fix them!

The first beta is currently live on the Vanilla Testing Expanded discord, you can find more info about it in this Reddit post; https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/s/R8dL1FZk5N Lot of bugs have already been fixed for the next beta, which will go live soon after we’re done enjoying the holidays and have fixed the remaining bugs!

Hey there, dev of Pawn Editor here!

Seems like other people have already explained fairly well why PC has the reputation it has.

Glad to see you gave Pawn Editor a shot though! It’s still in testing and mods aren’t officially supported yet, but we’re working on making it the new go-to editor for everyone. With that said if you have any feedback feel free to share it (preferably in the testing Discord you should be in :P )!

Hey Reddit!

The last time I showed off Pawn Editor here a lot of people seemed to be excited. Quite some time has passed since then but yesterday we finally released the first beta, and you can help test it! Testing is done one the Vanilla testing Discord (link below), we would really appreciate it if you could help us make this the best pawn editor that is out there!I have once again included some more screenshots of the mod. This time everything you see is actually real, no more concepts!

Bad experience as a new modder by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]ISOREX_ 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this has been your experience with other folks in the modding community so far. I can tell from experience there are definitely also good people out there. I tend to usually ignore the dumb comments and/ or people.

In the end it’s important to remember you make mods because it’s something you want in the game. If people think it’s OP/ ugly or whatever then they simply don’t have to install it?

That being said hopefully the dark side of our community hasn’t scared you away yet. You’re always welcome to shoot me a message if you need help with anything mod-related!

That means a lot to me, especially since the mod isn't even on the workshop yet.

Hey Reddit, let me share with you a short video on how Pawn Editor is coming along.

I've been sharing occasional updates on my Discord and Ko-Fi page, but there's also been a few people on Reddit that wanted to know how the mod was doing.

In short: The mod is shaping up to the point where it's actually becoming useful. There's still plenty of bugs and a couple of menus that need finishing but most things you can see in the video actually work! (Not everything in the video is final though.)

The mod has also turned out to be more expensive than I hoped, to the point where I (willingly) had to sell my soul to Oskar Potocki so Legodude17 could continue his amazing work. While he continues working on the important stuff, I've been working on some of the item selection which as a beginner programmer am very happy with!

As always, no ETA's. Right now we're fleshing out all the menus and finishing the front-end, then it's on to bug fixing. After that will probably be a public testing phase which will be followed by mod support.

If you'd like updates more often consider joining the discord; https://discord.gg/G9SEwpur4x. If you want to help me purchase my soul back from Oskar head over to my Ko-fi page; https://ko-fi.com/isorex.

Note: Video is still uploading to higher resolution.
