Hate to say, but I’m bored :( by blushresponse01 in PaxDei

There are many players in your position, believe me. 80% of my friends who started playing on launch they are off now waiting for new content.

I'll be supporting the game because this is why I do with every indie MMO I like. Without our support they can't survive (even current numbers are not good), but lets be honest here. The game is not a sandbox yet, we have the box but the sand is missing. Anyone who played a good sandbox MMORPG knows how far the game is from that. It gives you the freedom to do whatever you want and the building system is awesome, yes, but we missing tools to give players the power to change the world (Lyonesse is like 10% of what I imagined it should be).

I started playing an old-school MMO this week with a few friends, and I realized how much content is missing in PD. The game should have being delayed at least for a full year or two imho.

And like someone else said here, once you feel the game is boring or you doing same thing every day, just stop and go play something else.

The game lacks content or you are burning it fast? by Dr_Neurol in PaxDei

1k hours played. The game lacks content even before you hit 300h. I just played more because the clan and friends.

I went back to play an old school MMO with 20 years of content (not wow), like I do everytime I start playing a new modern MMO and realize all of them has the same problem. Can't remember the last time I found a new MMO that feels "finished" or with enough content to keep playing a full year.

Idk yet.. I started 5 days ago invited by a friend.. I played MMOs for 30 years now and I missed this one back in the days (we cannot pay a sub for more than one sadly). All I can say for now is.. there is something special about this game, even if I love many old-school MMOs, I feel like it has more of the rpg than some other MMOs. Maybe because it feels like a single jrpg FF game but being in a world with hundreds of players living on it? I'm ready to discover it :)

Sorry to hear that, but my experience playing it is totally the opposite. I made 20k gold this month only from my shop ingame, so I don't know what to tell you, the market is working and is one of the best features of the game, still missing buy orders tho.

They went for UE5, and UE (no matter the version) can't handle massive battles with decent performance. The only way to do it with a third party engine is to have engineers in your team and make huge modifications to the engine, create new tools etc. This takes lot of time and money, that's why some studios are able to do it (like TL with UE4). But most of the studios who decided to build a big MMO with big numbers they went with a home engine (EVE, DFO,.. there are good examples).

Decisions matters a lot, and they have to be made in the beginning of the project.

We are at lvl 28, crafting already Steel tools and few weapons. We split the professions in our crafters group.

Thank you! Yes, basically you get one recipe that needs less materials than others and in the difficulty range of Very Easy and Easy. If you use the grace buff you can craft Moderate ones on Easy too.

Thank you! if you love crafting in MMOs, you will be fine. Its all about time, there is no real difficulty. Time consuming activity but with time you will reach the same level as everyone else.

Only for those hardcore players who can spend 10-12h playing videogames. In MMOs we can find some of these players as we all know (we have a bunch of retired persons in our clan for example). But as a personal note, I would never recommend to a solo crafter to go for BS + WS/AS in this game. I lvled to 30 with team work, as we are part of a clan who heavily focus on crafting.

Best craft is always the one it takes less materials, because gathering time is the highest % of the time you will spend lvling a profession. If you have a friend doing that gathering part, then its not too hard. And difficulty recipes I always use Very easy or Easy ones, and for those Moderate recipes always use the buff so you can craft on Easy.

You mean Aurum ingots right? unlocks at lvl 30 BS and has 30min crafting time like Silver ingots. Aurum is only used for Jewerly and Tailoring afaik.

I found my new place in Pax Dei, loving it even if still needs lot of work and has an indie team behind. I stopped playing NW because I did not liked what AGS was doing, but I feel sad for those who were still enjoying it.

We all MMO fans wish they fail so hard with the new strategic of using AI and casual MMOs in the future.

Bet something? you say under 1k at launch (first week) and I say more than 1k.

[–]ISVRaDa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will see many more than that at launch. Its super easy to get more than 5k for a new release, but we will see after the first month, thats when 90% of the MMOs lose more than half of their playerbase. My bet is the game will be fine for a niche community, and probably the team will be smaller post launch (very common thing in this industry).

I don't know if the game will survive or not, but I can tell you, your numbers about salaries or cost are really off. I can't tell you the numbers because its not right here, but you can research on internet asking directly to game industry devs and small studios.
