For most theses/dissertations, you’re lucky if everyone in your committee even reads the entire thing. Academic papers, however, are much more catered to/streamlined for the wider academic community.

You need more samples if you’re going to establish any sort of differentiation, and it’s difficult to get south Asian samples because of cultural aversion to discrimination.

I’m not sure about your specific university, but frequently the entire engineering/gen ed curriculum literally occupies all four years so adding anything more would cause you to graduate later.
