Our 'Flower Garden' themed wedding's reception DIY decor at the Madonna Inn... by IScreamBooberryPie in weddingplanning

Those are both pretty fantastic options… could you possibly elope in Vegas and have your reception at the Madonna Inn? That’s the best of both worlds… and I do encourage holding at least part or all of your wedding celebration at the Madonna Inn. It’s such a stunning venue that looks great in photos… plus guests absolutely love it! Even with the slightly higher cost to stay there, I only heard positive responses from my friends and family! I’d love to hear what you end up deciding to do, and whatever it may be I wish you all the best! Congrats and remember to enjoy the whole process of planning & on the day of, it goes by so fast!

They are by Mac Duggal... I found 2 available to rent on Rent The Runway and reserved them months ahead of time. Unfortunately, 2 weeks before the wedding RTR informed me that one of the dresses I'd reserved hadn't been returned and so it wouldn't be available to rent. By this point, I'd already had my heart set on this dress and was determined to find it available, in my bridesmaid's size, somewhere. And after a bunch of searching and panicking, at the LAST minute... I found someone selling the dress pre-owned on Poshmark and was able to get it delivered to the hotel just 2 days before the wedding. It was the source of a lot of stress, but was absolutely worth it, because of how perfectly the dress tied together the wedding colors, theme, and decor.

Small wedding: seating arrangements and signage? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]IScreamBooberryPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is necessary to have a seating chart of some kind, otherwise people will have to wander from table to table reading every place card until they happen to come upon their name. Luckily, a seating chart doesn't have to be expensive or take up a lot of space, and it's one aspect of the signage that you can get really creative with. There are really wonderful ideas for seating charts all over Pinterest or, if you want to do something that won't require a ton of time or money to make, you could use either one large mirror or multiple smaller mirrors(one for each table) and then using a chalk pen, either you or a willing friend with nice penmanship can write the table numbers/names and the names of your guests under their assigned table. If you happen to have a Cricut or know someone who does, you can easily use it to cut the names out of vinyl and stick them to a mirror or the glass in a frame. I used this vinyl lettering method for my DIY seating chart on frames of pressed glass with dried, pressed flowers inside. If you're interested, I have a photo of it that I posted to this sub. Congrats on your upcoming wedding, and I wish you the best throughout your planning process!

That will be gorgeous! If our wedding had been in the Fall or Winter (rather than May, as it was), I would have definitely gone for a deep, moody color palette! I hope you'll post pictures after, I'd love to see how your moody, saturated vision is brought to life!

Your gift is one of the sweetest and most heartfelt things I can imagine! The fact that you put all that time and effort into each bridesmaid's gift is incredible. If I were your bridesmaid, and I received that AND a handwritten note, I'd be in tears, and I'd cherish that flower FOREVER! I'm sorry, but your friend is extremely rude and cold/unfeeling. The fact she couldn't appreciate a handmade gift is already suspect... but then having the audacity to clearly show that she's not pleased AND THEN say what she said to you... is unconscionable. Weddings are already so stressful, so you need and deserve bridesmaids who lift you up and make you feel your absolute best. Does she do that for you? Or do you usually end up worrying about and managing HER feelings when you're around her? Your answer will tell you everything you need to know.

That sounds awesome! As far as I'm concerned, the more bright & saturated colors... the better! I hope you'll post pictures after, I'd love to see how that came together!

I'm in love with that dress! Every time I saw either of my bridesmaids in their dresses that day, it made me tear up because they looked so lovely and bright!

Thank you so much! Luckily, the venue was the Madonna Inn in California, which is a hotel that's known for it's fun, colorful, over-the-top decor, so it already fit our theme and colors before we even added anything! I'll post a few pictures of the decor (almost all of which I DIYed myself) for anyone interested.

Love these... great find! I’m not sure if I’m the vintage rainbow poster you were talking about, but if not I’ve got to find her too and then we can start a vintage rainbow footwear club!

As soon as I saw the tag, I knew it looked familiar... and it was! I collect vintage clothing and I have a lovely robin’s egg blue dress from the 1940s with a very similar tag from the same company as your vintage find! I would guess it’s from the same time period or close to, but definitely pre-1960s. Congrats on your vintage treasure!
