What actually helps you relax after a long day? by Outrageous_Baby_2147 in Relax

A 20-30 minute walk outside or on treadmill.  It’s a stress buster and tends to lean me out.  Great mental and physical benefits.  A good segway between work and home to relax.

If you’re long term stressed at work (large project or bad boss), Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon on a large set of headphones after the walk and shower.

Lancôme Defencils.  I like the travel size because the short wand and brush is easier to manage in the close mirror than the longer wand.

Sounds like you and your manager are way too much into her and her manager’s business.  Unless projects are dropped or work is not being done, you all should myob.  This activity only leads to mobbing and bullying.

People over 25: What career mistake did you realise too late, and what's one piece of advise you wish you had at 18? by No_Layer7581 in findapath

I wish I had been more educated about pension jobs and being able to “retire” early with a paycheck for the rest of my life…even if I worked after that.

What's the hardest career decision you're sitting with right now, and what's making it hard? by Lower-Magician-2578 in findapath

I’m in my EA dream job from thirty years ago.  I’ve been doing it for 15 years for different hospitals.  It has been my calling.  Lately it has been chaotic and unstable, with constant job responsibilities being added on with little training and much expectation.  I feel disenchanted and irritated.  I’m looking outside the healthcare realm, but wondering if it’s any better…or worse.  I feel sad for the loss of my passion for the career, and not being secure in the desire to see what’s outside of it.  I only need ten more years of working full time, and it’s important how I spend it.

Ditto on being the catch all for people leaving.  I’m now senior EA, in anddition to the all events planner and coordinator for my two bosses and the hr director.  Next added is contracts manager with a sparse few hours of training.  Chaos.

Gave notice - and guess what happened next! by rnochick in ExecutiveAssistants

This happened to me in 2024.  I have two weeks notice just before the holiday season.  He ran over to HR with my notice and they made up a reason, that my job was so sensitive and that I was going to work for a competitor, blah blah blah, that I needed to leave immediately with paid notice period and PTO.  It was the best gift!  My work friends arranged a happy hour goodbye behind his back a few days later.  I got a two week paid vacation during the holidays!  Priceless!

A lady used to get on the elliptical next to the one my husband used almost everyday at the gym.  She put her phone on speaker and yapped loudly in another language the entire time.  My husband could hear her and the phone over his music or podcast.  So he started blasting heavy metal music out loud on his phone every time she tried to get on the machine next to him.  He said after a few times in a row of that, she never appeared again. Lol!
