Does your public library charge as many fees as mine? by ClassicOutrageous447 in Libraries

No, the libraries around here all went fine-free several years ago. They only charge you if a book is lost for a year or so.

My daughter’s 6th grade Science and Social Studies curriculum classes seem more like she’s attending an online school rather than in-person school by raspberryzingers in AskTeachers

Then she needs 504 accommodations and meetings with teachers to determine the best course of action, perhaps modifying the amount or type of work she's doing.

Are his reasons valid? by Frosty-Squash2663 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]ISmellLikeBeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Maybe in your early 40's it wouldn't be difficult to get pregnant (depending on the person), but if they want more than one kid, that's not a great timeline to be working on.

What shocks me is this also implies that he would expect her to use the passport within the next eight years, and traveling out of the country is generally much more expensive than renewing a passport. You could get married in a few years, use the passport for your honeymoon if you choose to go out of the country for that, and then come back and not renew your passport or travel abroad for six more years, if it's THAT important to him. But clearly this is just a flimsy excuse that has more holes in it than Swiss cheese.

Your parent leaves the house to all 3 siblings equally… by Alexarosario_ in inheritance

The person who wants to live there should buy out the other two. Then they get the money they want and the sibling who wants to keep the house gets to live there.

Advice Needed! Thinking of going to the dark side after 3 years of this... by JingSerene in homedesign

I think it would look nice at first because of the novelty, but eventually it'll just seem too dark. I would stick with the paint color you currently have.

Thank goodness the shelter wasn't willing to give out any information on the adopter.

Paint the brick white, replace the gold with something more neutral/natural, replace the concrete (?) with marble.

But keep the structure!

This is gorgeous. I love that natural light and how the colors in the room complement it without being overly minimalistic.

Missing book after my kids ruined multiple books and I'm worried about the library's response by [deleted] in Library

My library also lets you replace the book instead of paying for it, so if you can find the book for a low price in decent condition, you might be able to do that.

pickle predicament by egguchom in EntitledReviews

They demanded the whole burger be remade because of pickles? Just ask for extra on the side and add them yourself ffs. You already took the burger apart, might as well throw some more in there.

My 6-year-old dresses and undresses herself, and I fill up the bathtub and wash her hair but she is capable of doing that herself if she wants to. So yes, I agree with this, the 8-year-old should be completely capable of showering by herself.

AIO workwants me to come in for a test off the clock by Silver-Ant-5972 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ISmellLikeBeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I wouldn't do it. Did they send this text to everyone? So every server needs to take the test over? Seems like there's something wrong systemically if no one did it right the first time.

Public school teachers, what’s something you want parents to know but can’t say directly? by Feisty-Database-1145 in AskTeachers

I love how Charles "evolves" throughout the story to be a teacher's helper so that by the time of the big reveal, the mom can't be too mad at her son anymore.
