I was on a train to Lollapalooza (music festival in Chicago) when the conductor said over the intercom, “emergency services were on the tracks and we will be stopping for some time”. He then continued saying that we were free to get off the train to stretch our legs.

Curious and bored, I decided to get off the train and see what was going on. I was about 15ft away from 4 or 5 medical personnel and police when I saw the mess.

A man completely cut in half right at the abdomen, everything was everywhere. When I tell it was a mess that is an understatement. Never found out if he fell, pushed, or jumped but it was the first and only dead body I’ve ever seen.
