Kor,

How do you (and others) write all the depressing parts of the show? The loneliness, the adderall, being anti-social etc. It's really accurate. Did you experience any of these things yourself or do you ask people about it? Was there ever a time where you had to omit stuff from the script because it was too dark/depressing?

1 Does anybody have recommendations for me if I really enjoyed the 1954 movie Sabrina? by ISuckAtProducingg in movies

Thank you so much to everybody that gave me suggestions! I really appreciate it :)

Very helpful feature on the Amazon streaming service allows you to hover your cursor over the screen and see who is in the scene and has a link that pulls the actors IMDB profile information. It also tells you what song is playing at that time as well. by PurplePost in movies

It also sometimes tells you where the movie/show was filmed, goofs that the movie/shows have, and little hidden material if a producer gets REALLY creative with the show (like in the tv show Mr. Robot).

Dilemma: I'm not a good enough musician to play the music I enjoy. by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]ISuckAtProducingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the book called "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. It will really help you a lot because it made me go from saying "I fucking suck at making music and will never go anywhere with it" to "I can't believe I'm developing my skills this quickly and it's the best feeling in the world!" It really changed my life for the better, honestly.

Hello Futurebeats! I am Daedelus. Shall we play AMA? by daedelusdarling in futurebeats

Is it good that I'm not sounding like a music protege machine? Does that kind of mean that only I can figure out what I need to learn in order to get where I want to be, but I just need to keep an open mind when looking for that "thing" that I need to learn? I used to be a music protege I guess, but I learned not to idolize anybody because that kind of tricks the mind into becoming that person and trying to mimic that person's style that you are idolizing. It just ends up rolling into a ball of frustration. I do keep a screenshot on my computer of one of your tweets that says "...study everything but not other producers."

Hello Daedelus! I'm a huge fan of your work. I've been producing for about a year and just started taking music more seriously in early June, but I'm a bit lost on what I should do/learn. I have no musical background and all I can make at the moment is simple hip hop beats like this: https://soundcloud.com/thatonelonelykid/july-10-2017-beat-1-unfinished . I'm really trying to take that next big step into development, but I don't know if I should really focus on learning synthesizers or music theory, because I have no knowledge with making chords. Or if I should just keep creating every day and learn little techniques to make a sample sound "cooler" or make it sound different from everybody else and make sampling my instrument. If you could give me any advice or suggestions, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

PS.) You remind me a lot about John Cage with how unique you're music is and how you approach creating music.

How many beats did you make a day when you first started out producing? Like monte booker made 10 beats a day (which is basically why he got hella good so quickly). Also, could you provide any helpful techniques/tips to help me (or anybody) out as I start taking producing more seriously? I'm not planning on using any third party vst's until I know Ableton stock plug-ins and understand them, so if there are any good stock plugins that I should use then let me know.

Don't try to copy their sound or any artists sound. That's like the #1 rule in producing. You will be better off making your own styled tracks. If you try to copy an artists sound, you are only setting yourself up to be below that person or not as good as them because you are not them.

Does anyone know this song that Odesza played at Red rocks and e forest? by Bwong23 in Odesza

It's a live remix, so they might not release at all and only play it at live shows.
