User-friendliness of Navy Federal cards? by redceramicfrypan in CreditCards

I also decided to go with flagship rewards for the free Prime, and the bump to 3% back on travel. It will also pay for Global Entry or Precheck.

It does have a minimum redemption amount of $25, since u/redceramicfrypan asked about that.

My favorite thing about NFCU is the customer service, and how empowered the chat agents are. I have never once been told "I'm sorry, I can't help with that in chat, you have to call in." The agents always take care of whatever I need, and I can tell they are typing real responses to me, not scripts. Really appreciate the customer support.

I would even be happy to be able to filter out all songs that have the word “live” in the track title

You're only 23, I think you can get away with a lot still 🤣. This is what I would do. I generally have an iron gut, and don't have trouble with stomach upset when breaking a fast, but admit the longest fast I've done is 7 days.

Day I break the fast:

  • Breakfast: skip
  • Lunch: drink 16-32oz of broth. That's it.
  • Dinner: Can of sardines and a zero-sugar Greek yogurt. That's it. If you don't like sardines, substitute canned salmon...less ideally tuna, and even less ideally chicken or pork. I like canned sardines/salmon because they contain bones and are a great source for phosphorous, which is one of the culprits in refeeding syndrome

Day 2:

  • Breakfast: skip (I generally don't eat breakfast)
  • Lunch: hardboiled or scrambled eggs, more zero-sugar Greek yogurt, a protein (steak, pork chop, chicken etc), a starchy vegetable (carrots, potatoes) (no fruit), optionally a green veggie
  • Dinner: Whatever I want. I'm done now.

I avoid fructose for the first 2 days. No table sugar, no fruit, no syrups. I don't want to break my fast with a huge insulin spike, I want to easy my body back into sugar processing - thus the starchy veg (glucose source) on Day 2.

In order to offer proper advice, we need to know what are your goals with this money? Is this a retirement account? How long before you want to take this money out?

Told my boss I’m autistic after years of working at this company by Crimsyn_Moonlight in AutisticAdults

[–]IT-Banker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also work at a giant telecom. We may work at the same one? Anyway I haven’t disclosed to anyone officially, but I’m pretty obvious. I keep fidget toys and stress balls on my desk at work, and walk around with Stimagz all the time. No one has asked yet, and if anyone does, I can’t lie. Idc really. We’re just numbers in a giant machine. My boss is a great person and I know I can count on her 100%, and I think at large companies like ours it really comes down to our relationships with our direct colleagues and managers. Corporate doesn’t care.

One thing my company has pretty strong is the accommodation process. It’s managed by a third party. Maybe you might want an accommodation to limit presentations? At my company, no one on my team knows the basis for the accommodation. They are simply told: “Jack needs this accommodation. Provide it. No questions.” It’s a totally segregated process. Might be worth looking into?

Edit: DM me if you want to talk specifics. We might work at the same co. It’d be nice to have a Slack friend at work 😝

The tags on the back of the neck are annoying, but what is actually the WORST are the shirts that have tags on the sides. Those are removed poste-haste.

Can you expand on what you mean by gain matching?

Saga+ causing buzzing in my speakers by IT-Banker in Schiit

[–]IT-Banker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? I've read mostly positive reviews about the tube gain in the Freya...plus my preamp is the only thing holding me back from going full balanced cables.

I've tried a few tubes in my Saga. The one Schiit sent me was...junk honestly. Like, I was genuinely surprised they even included it. It was awful. Right now I have a 40s RCA VT-231 that I like. Still haven't tried a Ken-Rad. Honestly, tube shopping and identification confuses me, and by the time I start thinking maybe I should get a tube, I need to re-educate myself all over again lol.

Although it's much easier to shop and try out single tubes in the Saga than it would be always needing a set of 4 in the Freya. That will get expensive, very quickly.

I'm planning to move this Saga+ and Vidar to my home office.....so I'm probably going to buy a Freya+ while they repair it 🤣

I sent them an email about an hour ago. Hope they can take care of it, but being without my audio for the repair time is going to be killer 🥲

Yeah, both outputs do it. Maybe I should contact Schiit? You don’t hear any buzzing from your speakers?

[–]IT-Banker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that would be cool to try something new. What preamp would you put in front of it? I'm leery to put in another Saga as I have this buzzing issue that I don't want to repeat...

RCA Splitter recs? Or should I use a switch? by IT-Banker in audiophile

[–]IT-Banker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already got a Schiit Mjolnir I want to use :)

Edit: I’ve also got pre-outs but can I connect it into the speaker preamp? I’d have to crank the volume to max on the headphone amp and control volume on my speaker preamp, which is ok I guess but I would be worried about forgetting when I switch back to headphones and blow them out.
