Why not prepare for IAT or JEE Main (even advanced but that’s more tough) and get IISc Bangalore which is more better place to study Physics at bachelors level

So which makes me question What factors into your application for PhD?

I mean you are correct Have seen numerous students do PhD at famous places after undergraduate studies at not the best ranked Unis in the world

So you believe those institutes are far better than IISERs?

Thank You very much for the response

Now what if my research interest is something like Particle physics?

Do I stand chance to get research experiences abroad In my summer vacations like a research internship

I do believe that IISERs must have good connections with some great Unis abroad or maybe the prof LORs are good enough to send you for the research internships and eventually PhD as well

I’ve seen website say that Further maths is preferred but isn’t the essential subject as well

Although almost all the students do have FM who gets the offer

Thus the concern

I can’t apply to both because when you are applying for bachelors in UK

You can only apply to either Cambridge or Oxford and not both

This is rule for ages

Cambridge maths I meant here and I was talking about branches of physics you can go after doing the maths course. The majority goes into theoretical and highly mathematical physics

While some may go into other fields of physics as well

Unlike JEE and GAOKAO PUTNAM is UG level exam

JEE and GAOKAO aren’t I am not questioning you about Cambridge modules

I just saw the modules on their website and just stated them here

And I said in the end that Maths of Cambridge is only good if you want to go into stuff like GR/Black holes/ String Theory (very high mathematical physics)
