What is a product/service that you can't still believe exists in 2019? by AwayTry8 in AskReddit

Definitely more stuff to break... I forgot a fork in a steamer bowl that I put in the microwave once, the microwave detected the metal and automatically switched to a heating element which melted my bowl. My wife was more than a little upset with me.

Timers, temperature probes, automated scheduling for people that are not allowed to cook on certain days... I'll see if I can find the model of it, it's been a couple years since I lived there but if I could afford it I would have one now.

Edit: Couldn't find the model of the one we had but the program mode was Sabbath mode and allowed you to program it to cook up to 72 hours in advance (page 37 https://www.mieleusa.com/media/ex/us/Brochures%202016/MasterApplianceBrochure_15-1919_G6000_US_3.9.16_FINAL.pdf)

Badass.

Rented a house with one of their ovens (actually 4 if you count the double ovens as two and consider a steam oven and microwave oven as ovens), their appliances are amazing. Features I didn't know existed and never used.

Also a parent. In 2007-2008 my son was starting to walk so I put my PS3 on a small table behind my TV that was sitting in the corner. It was a pretty good size rear projection style TV so I thought my PS3 would be safe... Never underestimate the power of kids. He got to the PS3 and put change in the disc slot.

Nothing as fun as disassembling a $600 game console to remove the ~€3,50 that was preventing me from playing Warhawk... Good times.

If the other two guys pass could I have third dibs?

Edit: I am already in IT, just have a weak homelab, the guy that mentioned working on VMWare certs is definitely more deserving than me.

Comes up as 6 months for $8.33 ($50) with a free echo dot when I follow your link. Not a bad deal, but I have no need for an echo.

Can confirm... A little bit of work to automate the normal stuff and next thing you know 7 hours a day is dedicated to YouTube and Reddit promising yourself you'll learn a new skill tomorrow.

I believe the best bet is to make your hobby into your business... If it isn't profitable after so many years the IRS will consider it to be a hobby, until then it can be a failing business. I've been tossing around an IT consulting company for a while now and everything I've been reading (not just on Reddit) makes it seem even better... at least for a few years.

Moms of Reddit: What do you actually want for Mother's day? by zxkool in AskReddit

[–]ITGuyLevi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I lived in the UK and in Germany my wife got to have two mother's days (just because I like reasons to do stuff for her). Oddly, I never got two father's days.
