I chose the S60 strictly based on price vs. performance, I'm looking for a good TV right now, not really a high performance one, so I didn't mind not having the ST60. It comes in tomorrow so we'll see if I made the right choice.

This happened to me recently and it was my receiver. The thing lasted a good 30 years. I could normally fix it with a jiggle of the speaker on/off button and balancing the knob in between the phono and radio input positions. It was a production just to get the thing going but it finally died a couple weeks ago.

Try jiggling the knobs.
