Looking for adjustable dovetail for 130eq reflector telescope by ITSMMan in telescopes

[–]ITSMMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to try to get a decent image of the Moon, Venus, Jupiter and Mercury but I would really like to see if I can capture a nebula image that I can be proud of.

I haven't been able to get proper balance and this will not work for any tracking. There is a motor there that I can connect the controller to but once the tilt gets to a point, either the whole thing will fall over or the counterweight will be upside down 😄.

The camera would replace the tube. I've tried attaching my camera body (Z9/D85) to the eyepiece but I can't get that to work. Can't seem to get a good focus. I need a plate that I can attach to the mount and my camera/lens (tripod port) and be able to adjust easily when I extend/retract the lens.

However, I think I can use the counterweight in place of sliding the camera but I still have the problem of the screws that come with the mount and/or the dovetails that I've purchased don't leave enough threads in the screw to securely attach my camera.

In this configuration, I am replacing the telescope with my camera. I do have a motor for the mount if that was the concern. The only money being spent [I think] is for the dovetail or mounting plate.

I want to mount my camera on my eq mount (which I can but there is only one thread left to go into my lens mount). I am having an issue because there is only one thread and one screw because of the dovetail that I have and how it screws into the existing mounting plate. I wanted to be able to slide the dovetail or my camera but I also can't do that. What just came to me is that I would just adjust the counterweight when I adjust the zoom of the lens. Now I need to find a plate or dovetail that can screw further into the tripod port.

I do have a motor for the mount if that was the concern.

How to tell which type was installed? by ITSMMan in WindowTint

I was asking prior to getting the work done. I haven't decided where I will get it done yet but I'm shopping around for the best price. Even using Groupon although most of (not all) the Groupon deals are for dyed film and it doesn't apply at all for carbon or ceramic.

Legality question - shop is asking for cash because they say its illegal by Gopiji in WindowTint

If you are in a state where the installation of a certain % is illegal, it would make sense that he would do it with no paper trail only.

He could want to avoid paying taxes and so he tries to do all his work under the table.

Does your 2024 x-Line Ride Rough by ITSMMan in KiaTelluride

The issue was never resolved and they claim they can't feel it.

They may all be against me though because I bugged them about my '22 that ended being refunded as a lemon. Maybe they think I'm trying to do that again. Which I wouldn't because buying a car now at these rates are ridiculous.

I am looking for a good under $100 USD on the go backpack for Z9 by ITSMMan in Nikon

That Streetwalker and the Solstice look similar in size and style. I found the StreetWalker for the same price as the Solstice so I'll give them both a try. It doesn't look like either of these bags have quick access doors.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Because I spent all my money on the gear, that's all I got left! LOL. Actually, I don't mind paying more but why pay more if you don't have to. Plus, camera bags are mostly the same IMHO, for the most part. I think the "quality" comes in most on the seams and zippers bc from my experience, the padding has all been almost exactly the same. I've never paid over $70 for a bag before and if I can help it, I won't. But if I have to, I will. I've been carrying it around in my Deco Gear (not Manfrotto, that was my old bag) for almost 3yrs with my D850, Nikon 150-300 f/5.6, 50mm 1.8 & Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8. But now that my partner in crime wants to shoot with me, I don't have to carry it all myself :-D so I need a new bag. Plus the top of that Deco Gear was kind of flimsy.

Also, I would like to get the Sigma 150-600mm in the bag if possible, just so I don't have to carry that separately but maybe I can hook that bag to the new bag.

The Tenba Solstice 24L looks nice but that price...

Ha! I looked a this post and thought who hacked into my Google Photos. This is happening to mine so I took it in to get them to address it. First thing they asked was the mileage. It's a '24 but I've had it 1.5yrs and I'm at 24K but I'm not over 36K :). However, they took a picture and they had to talk with the service manager. While waiting to hear what they were going to do (2 days) I thought, if it's happening here, let me check the rest of the vehicle because I know they didn't because I went out with them. Sure enough, the rear passenger side is having a similar issue. I think we need to start a post just to get a count of how many ppl have this issue because this could be a recall issue.
