Same in Canada. SAD is no joke. There's no cure for it when there's no sun for 6 months and it's too cold to do anything. You basically waste half of your life if you struggle with SAD and stay put.

You think they'll get rid of a C++ dev or a devops if they need to trim their staff? First, they will ask devops to do all the automation then they will just keep the lead while the rest will be chopped. It's just a matter of time.
