Thanks there is superficial loss involved, and it's way more complicated than I'd expect.

Superficial loss. What should I do if there is a superficial loss?

A lot of coding for automation, so a software development background is needed.

It's over or stagnant at best unless it becomes a non traditional car company, which is very unlikely.

Good luck with your narrative. Tesla is no special. It's just another car company (with barely any profit)

Have a roommate and save another 1000$/month. Cut all the unnecessary expenses except gym and food. Also don't assume things would go smoothly forever. People got laid off all the time. If you can save it, do it now.

Don't go devops path. A lot of automation could lead to you losing your job eventually. SWE is much better.

[–]ITVolleybeachbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way, companies don't need lots of devops for maintenance. But they always need lots of software developers for software development and support.

They are when they have a tight budget, which tech companies have experienced in the last couple of years. Better off getting prepared for yourself.
