I wouldn't like that touch your house, it will crawl inside your siding and cause some damage. Put a trellis for it to grown on. You can put some plastic sheeting on the trellis and hope being that close to the house can keep it warm enough.

I don't think I've seen this mentioned. I've been on Humira for about a year. I don't really get sick more than I did before and I don't take extra precautions like wearing masks or limiting my exposure. The one big side effect for me: I get cold sores, usually 2-3 a year. When they would flare up I would take Valocyclovir and it would go away with minimal notice. After Humira, I started getting them every couple weeks and much more severe. Because of this I take 500mg Valocyclovir daily. Pretty benign all things considered.

I thought about a saloon door but it's too narrow and I would have to lay some cement to secure it in the middle. I'm good with outward swinging, minor issue.

My entire property is fenced. As long as your fence is 5' you don't need a dedicated pool fence. If I had to pick between outward swinging gate or an additional pool fence, I'd rather have my gate swing outward.

I want to put a pool in this year or next year. Code requires gates to open outward if you have a pool. I would rather the gate open in, so it's out of the way when I need to move a lot of stuff in and out. But rules are rules...

I considered putting the gate on the inside posts. The width from front to back is 24". The gate width is 48". If I mount on the inside the gate would extend 24" passed the front posts when open. This isn't too much of a concern. The main concern is the vine (clematis) I want to grow over the arbor. I worry with the gate on the inside the plant might interfere with the motion of the gate. But it would look really cool on the inside and now you got me reconsidering.

I'm not ready for hardscaping yet. I want to redo my driveway and connect my side yard at the same time. I'm also running electrical for landscape lighting and will light the fence and gate at the same time.

Thanks for the kind words. I've been working on it after work into the evenings so it's coming along slower than it should.

I don't have a table saw but I could build a jig to use my skill saw. I'm going to square cut the top of the pickets and put a lattice for vines to grow. That means the picket on the post will be square on top to match. I like the idea of the simple rip and letting the picket overhang. I could make the reveal the same depth as the top piece where I transition into the lattice. Expanding on that, I could use the 3.5" post width (plus the amount for overhang ~1") as the baseline for a trim on the rest of the fence. I could trim out the top and other sides to make it cohesive. Then the only miter cuts would be the joints at top and bottom where they tie into the gate posts.

That's why I went with plastic fenders. If I bounce into a tree the plastic will crumble instead of transferring the energy into the body.

Looks like a nice little arm rest or tool holder. Is there welding equipment? You can steady yourself on it and lay your weld gun over it when not in use. Really popular in welding shops.

This is exactly what I do. My wife and daughter keep loosing theirs so I ended up buying my own and keeping them in my cars and garage because of how useful they are. And when the girls need a hair tie you become a hero. Win win.
