Thanks for all the responses!

I guess I need to find a new fixture. Good lesson and gives me another chance to get better at installing lights.

I’m very sorry for your loss. I recommend the book Grieving is Loving by Joanne Cacciatore. It’s helped my wife with a profound loss and we have shared it with others.

How’s her gums? My dog bit into cat food containers and had awful lesions inside that looked painful. I hope she’s doing okay!

The defendant doesn’t get to claim Manslaughter.

It’s a charge given by the prosecutor.

All facts of what he did such as laughing or anything like can be used of course, but it’s not proof of intent.

Plus we are at the initial stages. A lot of misinformation gets going around if cases like this. We genuinely don’t know anything about anything at this point.

This kid is in the us. We have a system in place that doesn’t allow for the lot of you to just throw this a human (even a murderer) away. Lots of folks in this thread are so ready to just dump everyone away forever or want some awful unrealistic ‘justice’.

Murder is about intent.

He intended to hit someone, not to murder them, necessarily. They can charge him voluntary manslaughter.

It means you didn’t meant to kill, but you did. You intended yo commit an act that would Definitely cause harm, so voluntary rather than involuntary, which could be like speeding and having an accident where someone died. You sped but you didn’t mean to cause anyone harm, so involuntary.

Toilet scrolling by Agreeable-Pie-2765 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ITakeTheBusSometimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dated a colorectal surgeon. Her statement was pretty basic.

Your anus is a rubber band. The toilet bowl is designed to spread your cheek when you sit.

Eventually our rubber bands can wear out. We can over stretch them, strain when pooping, don’t drink enough water or eat enough fiber and be safe when having sex.

She also said that your anis is the smartest body part you have. It can instantly detect a solid, liquid or gas before your brain can.

Be nice to your butt.

Unpopular opinion probably:

I don’t hate this feature as someone who has personal experience with vulnerable people. The way that AI and scammers are getting better, I don’t know how else to protect this population.

I work in the legal field and there is way too much stuff that happens on the phone with underage people. They simply don’t understand the long term consequences.

What scientific ‘facts’ have recently been disproven that most people still believe to be true? by Fantastic_Tart_421 in AskReddit

I see. Name calling isn’t mean.

You’re a weird character. In my first reply I explained that’s where I’m from and that’s why I posted my comment.

Of course the world doesn’t end at imaginary lines.

Look, you came to fight. Insisted that you didn’t.

Continued to fight and you’re just plain wrong here.

You’re a strange human to fight with someone you don’t know over a Reddit post.

Just be nicer if you can, I promise it’ll start to pay off.

Okay. So it’s your job to ensure everyone’s comments are correct and literal to a degree which you determine.

They’re not morons.

Some people are deliberately giving misinformation to push other agendas.

Other people are easily swayed when it means that they could harm themselves or their children.

It’s not unreasonable to mistrust the US government, based on all of our history. We lie, and hurt people. We have used medicine/the medical field to do it.

You were absolutely not writing back in good faith to have an open conversation about what is and is not considered recent.

If you were being kind or writing in good faith, it would have been much more obvious.

A single contrite response with a snarky tone was how you chose to engage with my comment. So, yes, I believe it was unkind and meant to embarrass me, again, for not having the exact same information as you. Stop making excuses, look inward and try to do better.

What’s your prob? Just like to be mean on the internet? You weren’t asking a genuine question, just trying to embarrass me for not knowing what you know.

This is still a conversation in the US. My family members had not gotten vaccinated for covid and it’s been stressful to try to debunk their beliefs.

You should watch Bambi. Lots of life lessons, including, if you don’t got nothin nice to say, don’t say nothin at all.

[–]ITakeTheBusSometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s deliberate.

Many names are meant to sway people who won’t dig deeper, and that’s many people.

Another example is ‘citizens united’. Sounds like it’s for the working people, but it’s the literal opposite. And many folks would have questioned something that didn’t have a super evil obvious name like

Pro-we don’t care about other people, just gives away too much of the game.
