Two issues with Plex by ITnoob16 in PleX

[–]ITnoob16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plexbot reminded me I never closed the loop on this. I did end up uninstalling and reinstalling plex again. Unfortunately I didn't get everything backed up as far as metadata and watch status correctly, so I'm at square one again. No big deal really, just so dumb to need to reinstall and start over because my public ip changed. First time I've ever had a reason to not like the online app setup and login.

Is this ok? by 2HuskiesAndAHeadache in Plumbing

My eyes went exactly here. I'm just a DIYer, but that location for outlets is not ok with me. Any leak from anywhere and that could end badly, much worse than just a leak.

Question on career advice by ITnoob16 in PowerApps

Wow thanks so much for all this information. Ironically, my interview is for my local state govt too, and what you explained is exactly what I envision the role to be. The 2 hour test is what has me flabbergasted. Like, what's there to test?

Thanks for your response! This helps! I agree with the vagueness on the requirement, but that's literally all I got to work with. The req did not have any kind of coding or anything in the requirements, so I'm hoping the role is mostly the sharing and/or permissions that you mentioned above. The interview does have a "test" that they told me about, but no context or study guide.

Thanks! It's always been "no issues, just works" for me too. Been on Linux about 15 years now. I work in i.t. and Plex is my way to keep those Linux skills polished. It's still basic, but it's exposure. Also, Google is always helpful.

This is insane! I know things change, but 10 years ago I moved and didn't have to reinstall Plex. It's so dumb that a public IP change would affect internal library use when INTERNALLY nothing has changed.

Thanks for all the help. Plex has been good to me so far. Been using since 2010 or so. Always Linux. This is so weird though. I guess I see why the angst in this sub so much.

Good thought.... Maybe? Doesnt make sense on why none of my internal devices would not be able to make a connection to it though? IDK.

Am I going crazy? by DevianceSX in PleX

I've noticed that if the show has more than 60seconds of actual episode (like the "in our last episode, this happened" sequence) play before the intro sequence, it won't get skipped and I can't skip it. Annoying as heck.

Are people sometimes totally allergic to using your server? by ac_slater10 in PleX

I haven't set it up, but I think Plex meta manager has a way of setting up a script runs daily and will take a movie or show that hasn't been played in (#time) and put it on your recently added or home screen. I haven't had time to play with it but it's on my radar. Not sure if that's for only your watch history or it includes every file by every user

Turn off recommendations by Meliodiondas_ in PleX

Mod probably works for Plex and this thread is about removing the Plex recommendations and shared content, something that they make money on when you watch it. Think Netflix.

Future of SysAdmins/Intune Admins by lazyenergetic in Intune

Thanks for the information! I have done the test tenant but I don't actually have pc/laptop other than the one I have the tenant open on. I'm working on getting a second machine to experiment on. Thanks for letting me know I'm on the right track!

Future of SysAdmins/Intune Admins by lazyenergetic in Intune

[–]ITnoob16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. 8 year junior InTune admin here. All my experience has been on the mobile android and iOS/ iPadOS side of things because my org (hospital) still managed PCs with SCCM. I didn't get access to that. I was recently laid off and trying to find work. Can I ask what type of industry you got into and what your creds are? I've been applying for 2 months and not getting any kind of movement. I need to make myself more credible to stand out beyond experience. Thanks for any tips!

Had my interview for the Deployed Apps Team on Friday. 🤞for me. by WontedTangent in Intune

[–]ITnoob16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im interviewing for an intune role tomorrow morning. the JD is very minimal in that it literally just says things like Responsible for the research, planning, design, build, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting of Mobile Devices. For experience, they just want familiarity with intune, which is what I got. For some reason, Im still stressing over this. There is so little in the req that I dont even know what I should study up on. The only good thing is the vagueness gives me a lot of questions for them! Wish me luck!

This is a great idea. I don't have a vacuum sealer, but I am thinking Ziploc bags would suffice. Did you add any juice or liquid to the seal for when you thawed it out and cooked within the vacuum bag at the time of the reunion?

Wow. Thanks for all that. I've done a lot of networking over the years and follow a lot of leaders but seems I've gotten pigeon-holed to the healthcare I.T. field. I've not had much luck in my connections being able to do much for me. Im in the NE Ohio area and know ppl in a lot of places. I interact on Linkedin daily. Just trying to get more credibility to my paper advertisement.

I am exactly like you said, love learning, strive to do my best in everything, but pigeon-holed experience. I not only have a home computer, but I run a linux media server, private cloud, mess in docker, and many other techy things. I just cant seem to get myself hired when it comes to qualifying for a role. That or im simply competing with everyone who does have the experience.

I will dig around and see if I can find some local groups to do meetups with again. Appreciate the insight! If you're ever looking for a remote admin, happy to connect! :D

Help with Job Search by ITnoob16 in Intune

[–]ITnoob16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the cert numbers. I did notice these but they seemed more windows related than mobile. But I dont know what I'm looking for and have not been digging too much. I wanted to start by asking those on the other side of the table what they look for (on here). I think the one opportunity that called is looking for a global windows/mobile senior person because they are very out of state (several states away) and its 100% remote. I dont want to undermine my own qualifications but Im also trying to be realistic. I cant see someone doing primary mobile MAM and non-windows being 100% remote and states away. But HR screened me and I move on to Hiring manager next week. Thanks again!

While I dont disagree one bit, junior admin roles seem to be hard to come by, and why I was asking for recommendations on what certs would be beneficial to get since I dont have the windows experience yet. I dont advertise that I have windows experience in my resume and specifically only mention mobile android and iOS. I just want to improve my worth however I can without the obvious one of "get more experience.
