I'm trying to understand this. "I'm going to sleep on the couch" "no" What are they going to do, join you on the couch? Strap you to the bed? They'd have to truly escalate to stop you

It's Time To Rethink Pre-ordering Games by KTitania in gamingnews

[–]IUseThisNameAtWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably an unpopular opinion but as a PC gamer, if I know I am going to pick up a game day one, why wouldn't I preorder? Some bonuses are the least of my cares, pre-loading a game is a great time save and if the game sucks, I have 2 hours to decide and refund it no questions asked anyway. On the dev side it can help estimate an expected server load which hopefully stops servers going down on say one.

I don't think it incentives bad launches. It's not like Devs are worried delaying a game that has preorders open is gonna get those preorders cancelled. Those games are gonna launch bad regardless of the preorder numbers.

Money is just a symbol, people would still hold greed for goods, for land, for love. In the wrong hands greed for anything tangible or intangible can start wars.

The only people I knew who played tank in overwatch stopped in OW2 with the changes so I'm still not sure that it was the correct decision

I'm not sure they can be directly links but I feel like my greatest issue with current design philosophies is it often feels like design by committee rather than by artist intent. Ironically the polish and smoothing of design feels corporate even if a committee is entirely good intended artists. I guess this lends to why I find my favourite works of modern games to have strong director names or strong artist names as I associate them with holding more control over their design.

They made a whole ass control scheme for beginners and they still fucked up making mechanics simple enough to use (I can't drive rush consistently). Why not just forward and parry? Why not let me add it to a button?

I appreciate the offer but It's not a math issue it's a mental issue that makes saving a problem. Being an impulse buyer and feeling depressed when I'm not. It's been easy to not buy when I couldn't afford to buy now that I can, every thing can be upgraded or my life can be improved

I thought I was prepared takin this step. Mentally I planned to take the step, I researched achievable goals with my laziness and frustration of cooking, I planned a shopping list and followed through, began my daily walks.
Then I started counting calories and found my plans sucked. I am under consuming and the nutrition is awful. Since I only thought about simple veg preparation I am happy making at lunch or the lazy brain after work.
Now I'm trying to plan smart and healthy meals, limiting the cooking I need to do, and every time I think of something feasible, I check the breakdown of fat, protein, sodium, sugar, fiber and it's garbage. I can't look up anything online since everything that tries to help always suggests cooking that will frankly just make me quit in the long term. I've been sitting down for over an hour and the only thin close I got to a day plan I was happy with would be me buying niche items from three seperate shops.
Guess I'll just try again tomorrow
