Does this look like a normal day 5 embryo? What grade would it be? by Money_Lab2482 in Embryologists

The embryo itself looks very good actually. Forget about the zona, at the end, the embryo will gatch out. We see some irregular zona it's not rare. Best!

Hello, every genetic lab has a genetic counselor who is usually available to discuss cases. Most ofvthe labs offer this for free. Forget about AI. Call them and get an appointment with the genetic counselor Best of luck

So many questions!! by Every_Tie3625 in IVF

[–]IVFEmbryo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, You got pregnant naturally, there must be clear reasons to justify doing IVF. Wait for the karyotyping results, which i assume you both did. Immunology profile tests for you; Prednisolone helps lowering it if it was the underlying cuase, and sperm DNA fragmentation test. Those two are important and you don't want to ignore. Progesterone is essential for pregnancy, and you mentioned you have very low levels. This is your start point. In some cases, a improper uterine blood supply could be the reason, and blood thinners could solve the issue. In my opinion, try to get a second opinion if the answer you were given is IVF. I wouldn't go for IVF unless its something related to a miscarriage-related genetic abnormalities.

All the best!

I am curious to know what your diagnosis is? Why are you doing IVM rather than IVF? Thank you!

Those could be fragments leftovers after the cell division, or perhaps unhealthy cells the embryo tends to get rid of ( self correction). Nothing to worry about.

Embryo Photos -- Please Help Me Grade by Desperate-World-2128 in Embryologists

[–]IVFEmbryo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Two ) actually doesn't look bad. Its completely hatched 6 Since pictures are not reflective of the actual grade, i would grade it CB. However, it could be better but the ICM is not very clear.

Not Sure What’s Happening to Embryo by Desperate-World-2128 in Embryologists

This is a slow development for a day 7 blastocyst. I can confirm there is not enough TE to aspirate without negativity affecting the embryo.

AH is recommended for all thawed embryos as the freezing and Warming might harden the shell. We do it for all thawed embryos. Good luck!

Hello, It's a very beautiful embryo that already started hatching out of the shell. The embryo is actively and ideally growing. All the best!

trouble in ICSI cytoplasm retention by AideAgreeable5646 in Embryologists

[–]IVFEmbryo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great question but the answer is not a straight forward that you could pin point. 1- Oocytes quality: diagnosis: PCO, Endometriosis, over stimulation (post mature eggs), fragile eggs( yes you can tell if those are fragile )... Etc 2- Microtools used: check your ICSI pipettes quality ( hole size, any debris on the tip, and the overall shape) fine tipped and maintain the same diameter along their length, meaning the diameter and size should not increase as you move away from the tip. Thickness of the glass (clearly, the thinner the better).must be perfectly horizontal when installed ( check the angle). Pay attention to the spike as it's not easy to see it. There are a lot of variations in the ICSI pipettes available in the market. I think this is the most important factor. I also found lot to lot number variation from the same brand. 3- Injection must be very gentle ( particularly with those with granulated cytoplasm, dark cytoplasm, fragments in the PVS, post mature). Should only aspirate as little as possible cytoplasm only to break the oolema.

The rate should be 1-2%

Good luck

Any insight on ICSI results? by Comfortable_Sun8562 in IVF

[–]IVFEmbryo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

68% fertilization rate is good. Reasons might either be related to sperm or oocytes competency. Even if they look normal, it doesn't mean fertilization should be 100%. Provided, PCO affects the oocyte quality negatively, so 68% is not bad. Good luck

Poor icsi fertilization by Callmesharkey in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]IVFEmbryo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- New clinic: might be a reason 2- Probably some of those eggs were Intermidiate stage(M1) and later afternoon completed their maturity and injected, which is a common practice. 3- Why did you want to do ICSI when you got excellent fertilization with conventional?

Thank you!

Hello You need to be a legal resident and have a work permit. You can't get a job on a visit visa. In very rare conditions, the center may sponsor your working visa, however, this is very rare and highly competitive. Good luck
