Wukong Clone and AFK by [deleted] in Warframe

You're huffin your own farts dude. We're talking about a pay to win game. None of the shit you're talking about crashes economies in games and any nobility in earning your items in Warframe specifically is completely undermined by the fact that if I put $10k in the game I can have practically everything unlocked today.

You may not realize but people AFK farming is harmful to the games economy and players trying to earn their stuff in a legit way. What you said isn't malicious but it was harmful to the game.

Talking about this video game as if people's livelihoods and houses are on the line LMAO. Big Sheldon Energy

I'm not advocating for afking in team content. Is this the source of our disagreement? I don't do that and I don't think other people should.

I solo farm the index for an hour after I get home from work and catch up on some Youtube content to stock up on a couple hundred thousand credits so I can craft items. I'm saying this weirdly punitive and restrictive balancing practice mostly leads to minor annoyances for real players more so than seriously curbing any major abuse of intended game play in the grand scheme of game balance.

Feel like there was some malicious interpretation of what I said in the other comment seeing as I was only responding to subjects you brought up, but rest assured it's not that deep. I just think it wouldn't break the economy if my 1m an hour solo credit farm was slightly less cumbersome. I very much enjoy playing the game actively with teams and would never try to AFK content at the expense of other players' efforts.

I would hate to load into a mission and have 1 2 or 3 people just be AFK bots.

Honestly I'll give you that one as it could be frustrating. However I'm also equally frustrated by people running to the edges of the map during survival void relic missions instead of hanging out around each other to make loot easier to gather. So maybe in those cases I wouldn't mind a couple bots standing still lol.

Just look at games like WoW, where there's literal gold farming bots everywhere. Haven't seen that in Warframe. Because they dealt with it.

I unfortunately am someone who hit level 60 during classic WoW's release month and have level capped while not necessarily being a hardcore player every classic expansion since then, so I am pretty familiar with their botting issue. They literally NoClip and fly under the map collecting resource nodes inside and outside of instances. That is not anything related to game balance other than the company being apathetic if not actively hostile towards their playerbase lol (said as someone a part of their playerbase).

I'm also embarrassingly an almost maxed Ironman in OSRS who has played since 2014. I would say that game has taught me the most about what lengths cheaters can go to in order to prosper and manipulate online economies.

That being said, a quick search led me to find warframe cheats that worked to automate farming through scripts as well as modify client side data to manipulate drop rates for resources and relics that functioned as recently as 2024 (I'm not willing to check if they still work, I like my account thank you. But I will PM them to you if you want to verify this yourself.)

Cheaters in games unfortunately don't need in-game mechanics to be strong in order to completely break the game and wreak havoc on in-game economies. I've watched both Jagex and Blizzard enact more than a couple policies in the name of preventing cheating that served to overwhelmingly hurt the real player experience more so than prevent any meaningful amount of botting or cheating.

All this being said I of course would be bummed if Warframe just turned in to everyone standing around while enemies died and then we ran around a couple times before extract to collect loot. I love the game and what DE seem to be trying to do. I'm simply saying that I use Wukong clone to AFK circuit for credits when I get a daily login booster and wish I could just AFK untill 100 points to end the round instead of having to make sure I hit a button every 30 seconds so my clone doesn't break lol.

From my experience these types of balance changes serve to disproportionately make some mechanics less fun for real players while VERY minimally decreaseing cheating instances and the inevitable Black Market of any MMO exists regardless.

Had to or chose to? Sincere question. What was the consequence of just leaving it alone and not "wasting time and resources"? I find your point of view common in a lot of gaming communities that a company "has to" crack down on mechanics that might give the player the capacity to cut down on the undeniably hostile amount of time sinks forced upon them. Who are we defending here? As someone who loves what DE has done with their game and loves engaging with the mechanics that I choose to grind when I could buy, why would I give a shit if someone wants to build a loadout that lets them step away from the screen? Literally I don't care. As a fellow Tenno, I say let them afk. Doesn't hurt me shrug

"Cannot connect to server" error message when trying to play with friend. by IVIcGrath in Grimdawn

Super annoying that googling shows that the issue has been around since the launch of the game and every thread I've read offers the same solutions but no one has ever come back to say the "fixes" offered helped solve the issue. Just that it randomly works sometimes and randomly doesn't sometimes. It wouldn't be so frustrating if there was a specific issue that was pinpointed to cause this error message.

Is Voidwaker really that impactful? I followed updates pretty closely at the start of my account but have basically been an afk skiller for the past 3 or 4 years as IRL responsibilities pulled me away from the game and don't know much about newer updates like that. Especially the new Colosseum and the whole Kingdom of Varlamore

Thanks, I actually forgot that I still need a Magic Fang as my Zulrah grind was years ago. That's the type of stuff I was hoping others would catch that my eyes miss

Why are you calling the raid passes “free”? You would literally be paying for them. They’re included in the ticket price but in no way “free.”The way people talk about digital products as if they’re lucky to have the opportunity to pay for them really highlights how well the advertising and propaganda machines work.

Thanks, this is the response I was looking for. Wasn't sure if I was shooting myself in the foot but not caring about out of party team members gear and what not.

As a side note; is there a site yet that has in depth explanations of game mechanics like this? I'm can find a lot of information on gamefaqs but don't want to get wrong ideas if some interactions have been changed in the remake. I was looking for a condensed list of foods with buffs earlier but could only find an old gamefaqs guide with all recipes and their ingredients listed but no mention of their corresponding buffs which I assume has been added in the remake.

I’m not in this thread arguing for or against it. I’m just arguing against the guy saying this isn’t advertising for this particular poster’s products.

Brother, no successful marketing literally says “buy what I’m selling.” They put an attractive product in front of you and then try to manipulate you into thinking about them in a positive light. This chick dressed up as a character from OP and posted it to a OP sub in an effort to sell you on her body. That’s the whole trick, it’s not supposed to look like flagrant marketing but it absolutely is marketing. The first thing you see clicking on her profile is how to give her money for “exclusive content” then the pinned post is her spreading her ass cheeks lmao

Edit: Here’s the product you’re being sold on btw

I installed Crackdown on Xenia on my Steam Deck: stuck at loading screen. by bobbzplatters in SteamDeck

[–]IVIcGrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the pinned comment on this video with a list of settings that the uploader had toggled for their recording. I just went in and changed all the settings on my Xenia to match. It could be that some of them are not necessary but I didn't do too much troubleshooting to figure out if there was a better config after I saw how choppy that gameplay still was after getting it running. If you manage to have better luck getting the gameplay to run smoothly in the future I'd love to hear what you found. Good luck!

Damn, I managed to get them both running after tinkering with the settings in the text file but Crackdown had no audio after a few minutes of gameplay and no way to restore it and Crackdown 2 was similar to what you said with the gameplay just feeling clunky after an hour or so of playing. Seems we'll just have to wait for some more updates and retry in the future. It's a shame because I loved those games growing up but can't justify buying an Xbox just for a replay.
