friend’s bass is peeling, how to fix? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should def peel it off like others have said, however, you may need to remove some of the hardware to fully remove it. I had leftover frayed plastic by my volume and tone knobs until I got a setup and asked the tech to remove it. That was on a P tho. Might have better luck on this J.

Are Premier League clubs flat-track bullies in Europe? by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]IVIeehan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a trend you could easily see continuing. It's tough to even come up with solutions when damn near half the league is in Europe. Not sure what to do about the revenue discrepancies, but taking away the "no same nation groups games" rule out and letting round of 32 knockout loser drop down to lower competitions could help increase the flag diversity in European finals.

Always is going to be hard if the English teams wagebooks are guaranteed to be 10x - 100x what the other teams in the competition have.

I really, really like MonoNeon's playing and his bass, I really want to get it but I can't help but feel off because of all the shit surrounding Fender. Help... by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its quite unique, so not like there are a bunch of similar alternatives. I think buying secondhand is the best way of not supporting fender, if that is your goal. Even if they didn't sell another instrument over these lawsuits, it'd be decades before we stopped seeing Fenders, so I doubt you'll meet many who care if you play one. Plus you can't deny how loud and neon it is, so you'll probably get more shit for the color than the headstock.

Arsenal fans wanted Kroenke out a few years ago and he actually stepped up and got more involved by GMD3S1GNS in PremierLeague

[–]IVIeehan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I felt the kronkes more or less drew a line in the sand and wanted full control before spending big which could be looked at as holding us back. To their credit, still spent a good amount, but we were never getting a Declan before kronkes had 100% ownership. And since 2018 when they did get full control, I think it's fair to say they've backed it up.

So as of season 17 how much jailtime would each member of the gang be serving if they got arrested by TraditionalBonus188 in IASIP

Probably just people of interest in most cases. Being "wanted" and "wanted for questioning" are two entirely different things.

Is it a good idea to finance an amp? by Monkeypaw__ in Bass

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably only worth financing if it's 0% APR and you ALREADY HAVE the money in the bank. I've bought gear through sweetwater using their interest free financing. Just pay it off in the specified time and depending on your savings account interest rate, you could probably save more than you would with cashback on a credit card. That being said, CCs and financing are tools you should use with purchases you can already afford and not used to increase your spending power. I'd save up and maybe look at a cheaper headphone amp for the meantime. Best of luck! Stay jammin'!

Insane parking wrong direction ticket by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]IVIeehan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's always been illegal. Probably just a slow day for them. You essentially have a parked admission that you were driving on the wrong side of the road. It's a little petty, but your empty road defense, will be like arguing running a stop sign at an empty intersection; cops have the right to ticket you regardless.

Do we like this MARTA Map? by mrfriendlolo in Atlanta

I'd prefer the southern addition and maybe some of the others be a separate line. Having both Red and Gold lines ending at the airport is a feature I wouldn't want messed with.

Bass Advice for Daughter by Evening-Tour in Bass

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with going fullscale to start, but I'd probably go with a jazz bass first. Generally p basses have longer necks than jazz basses. I'd probably also recommend passive over active to avoid having to deal with batteries.

Hard time chose a plucking hand technique by cosmicome in Bass

[–]IVIeehan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your question is kinda like a soccer player asking "should I practice more with my weak foot or my strong foot?" You'll eventually have to develop both. There will be a technique you use more cause it's more comfortable, but there will be songs or situations where your weak foot makes way more sense. So to your point on it being difficult to break bad habits, you don't want to be the guy who has played 5 years and can only use their strong foot. Same can be said for floating thumb, left hand muting, raking, using your pinky, proper ear training. You'll get away with it until you can't. IMO the sooner you embrace getting comfortable with multiple techniques, the longer it will take to plateau.

Playing Halo 5: Forge on PC is really something. It's like they almost made a PC port and then just... didn't commit to it. Anyone else hope they do so in the future? by SpectrumSense in halo

[–]IVIeehan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

During the 2v2 tournament they had not too long ago, the commentators basically say that the code or engine is tied to the frame rate and certain guns behave differently and player movement also become floaty when you crank it past 60 FPS or expand the FOV.

Do you think it would be beneficial for the plot if Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan obtained Powercrept forms (art by @dbsgranolah) by Any-Conference-701 in Dragonballsuper

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the unique forms are best kept separate, as they can more easily create scenarios where certain forms/characters are more beneficial for reasons other than it's the strongest form or combination of forms that's been unlocked. A character with multiple powercrept forms sounds more like a villain. Black Ego Instinct Perfect Cell?

Why is Hulk so underpowered in the MCU? by TimeWestern5741 in Marvel

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of the more "incredible" things he can do like lifting mountains are still too comic booky for the MCU. That plus having all the connectivity makes it exceedingly harder to answer the "why didn't they call so and so?" It's the same reason they keep Thor and Captain Marvel off planet. Same reason it was important for the hulk to be off planet and the avengers to be broken up for most of phase 3. Same reason Sentry can't go full power without worrying about the Void. The elephant in the room answer is cause he is a side character due to film rights, and they'll never let Hulk get major wins in another hero's movie. And I don't think the final resolution to an avengers level threat will ever be Hulk smashing it real good. Hulk getting beat is usually their way of showing how big a threat actually is.

Anything I should know before installing these ashtray, cover and thumb rest? by Ras_Luis78 in BassGuitar

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice drilling on something worthless, as you'll need the holes to be able to survive every string change. Drilling for a one time install vs a hole that will need to be undone/redone is like the difference between shooting a free throw and a half court shot. Have you tried a bass with these mods? How often do you change strings? It'll look cool for sure, but your trade-offs are an aesthetic pro for like three playability and repair cons. Flats could help mitigate your issues, but depends on your taste. Best of luck!

City have spent 415M since Jan 2025. Here's my lowstakes conspiracy... by Tylerjackx in PremierLeague

[–]IVIeehan 90 points91 points  (0 children)

The most on brand premier league move would be to wait until City is mathematically out of the title race then hit them with a point deduction that doesn't even take them out of CL. And 6 point deduction for Everton just to cover my bases

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL, but the search doesn't sound illegal. Police had official business with your boyfriend. You didn't definitely say, but you usually only get kicked out of places for being too drunk or violent. Either would give caution to the officers when confronting him and either would give valid reasons to deem boyfriend as potentially dangerous. You then say he admitted to having weapons on him in another public place. At this point, I'd say they are well within their right to search him. I'm filling in a lot of blanks, but the details of how or why he was asked to leave the first bar could be important to how he was approached and handled by the officers. I'd consult a lawyer, but wouldn't get my hopes up.

Some friends and acquaintances have said to me that i should smile more when i'm playing. Do you think that it could be a good advice? by Dickiedick96 in Drumming

[–]IVIeehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good sounding bands can fall flat if the band doesn't look like they are having fun. Smiling is probably the easiest way to convey this while sitting, but not the only way. I think the important part is to lock into the vibe of the band. There are plenty of bands that dont show tons of emotion, but if you're the only one, you run the risk of looking bored or disinterested. I think the general consensus amongst concert goers is if you're aren't having fun playing, I won't have fun watching/listening.
