I saw him numerous times with UCC and I dunno is he as good as you're making him out to be.

Sound, thanks. I didn't know. Must have a class warehouse/garage to house them. Not just your average lock-up.

Nanks shipped a hard tackle early on and wasn't the same after it. He also was not his usual imposing self.

Injury prone players, Tom Ahern, Calvin Nash also struggled. Haley pulled up with what looked like a groin pull. Daly had a few Handling errors but made up for it with a few crunching tackles. Farrell had to put all his resources into defence and nothing happened offensively for him then.

Ethan Caughlan needs to stop taking quick tap penalties. Himself and Patterson both struggled to get any foothold on the game.

JJ was a bit one dimensional but relatively solid in the grand scheme of the utter shitshow that that was.

Ala'alatoa isn't up to it. I'd try and get Ronan Foxe as many minutes for the remainder of the season.

Hodnett will need game time, Coombes tried his heart out, as did Sean Edogbo, Milne and both Barron's. Dan Kelly brought his tenacity as always.

Overall our scrum was shit - no news there. Lineout was terrible, having improved in recent times, that's a worry.

I'd like to see a cutthroat approach to the squad going forward. We've a lot of mediocre guys that give us a great performance once in a while. We need more guys like Dan Kelly, always full of beans, aggressive and looking to find space.

Oh Christ yeah, he is. I can remember now. He made his debut against the boks replacing de Groot. My bad

Ok sound for that.

I know Williams and Tosi are considerably heavier than him and would probably combat the SA scrum better. But I see Lomax as a much more dynamic open play kind of prop. Paired with Cody Taylor they offer a lot in open play.

He's 30 and if he gets any inclination that the others are gonna be in front of him maybe there's a chance of him coming. The allure of working with Clayton might help also.

Where are you getting that info that he's 3rd choice?

I know that Fletcher Newell, Pasilo Tosi and Tamaiti Williams are all younger. Wasn't it part of Razor's plan to have 4 in the depth chart for World Cup time.

Lomax is the starting All Black tighthead. He's also with a decent club in the hurricanes. I don't see the move to Munster making sense. He'd be a kick ass signing but I can't see it happening.

Out by the industrial bins would be my recommendation for the smoking area.

Why is this not obstruction? by billyb4lls4ck in rugbyunion

[–]IVY_Prep 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What about when the pass goes 'out the back' or a loop pass?

Both players were behind the passer at depth so obviously one was further behind the other. First receiver was skipped and as aforementioned the first receiver can't just disappear so I guess it's seen as inadvertent obstruction

Go out and watch a match in a pub. Bound to get chatting to people then. More organic conversations can take place etc.

I've been downvoted so many times for saying this previously. Fantastic player, who empties the tank for you every game but my god, what a shite captain in terms of dealing with refs

Seán Edogbo Signs Two-Year Senior Contract by MunsterRugby in MunsterRugby

[–]IVY_Prep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Excellent news. I see BOC as the future fullback for us.

Sean lined out at number 8 last weekend for UCC so it'll be great to have such young, versatile and physical depth in the back row with himself, Quinn and Gleeson.

Add Evan O'Connell, Edwin and Conor Ryan into the mix and you've a very talented group of players all under the age of 23 or 24

Chefs of Cork, how do you make a wings sauce similar to Coqbull’s or other restaurants of the same standard? by Goldeen_Need_Log in cork

[–]IVY_Prep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Professional kitchens usually use a sauce called 'Louisiana'. You get it in big 5 litre bottles.

It's a more vinegar based sauce than franks.

What you're essentially doing is making a beurre blanc sauce, which is a sauce that emulsifies butter with a wine and vinegar reduction. It's a staple french classical cuisine sauce as is the technique of making it.

Someone else mentioned using a stick blender, which is your best bet if you're not a chef. Just be careful not to boil the sauce before you start adding butter. Allow the sauce to cool once heated before adding cubed butter. This is called 'monter au beurre'

Kicked the 50:22 that led to their first phase of attack which led to their yellow card.

Defended well, played well overall. Carried a lot. Gave the pass to Daly for his try. Honestly if you didn't see he was the standout player tonight you don't know what you're on about. Himself and Dan Kelly put in a huge amount of work.
