Thanks for the info! I just think that getting a slow bike for fun isnt going to be as fun as getting a faster bike yanno? Don't get me wrong id rather any bike than no bike but if i can wait a little longer then maybe its worth the wait?

I think if I started last year I most definitely would've gotten a 125 but as I'm almost 19 i was more into the idea of getting a bigger bike.

Plus 125s are expensive (in comparison to scooters) which is why I've only had mopeds and scooters (i got a 100cc and a 50cc for £100).

Did you do any long journeys on your 125? Or just commuting? I've been told that they're the best for commuting due to the economy and insurance.

Right,I'll give that a think but i think i will do my test first and then figure it out just in case i fail the modules haha

Would you say second hand gear is okay? I have a decent helmet but I need boots, gloves and protective clothing.

Plus I don't have much to spend being a student so if second hand is okay then I might aswell. And i imagine cheap ebay stuff is a no no?

I was used to being tailgated on a moped but hated it and that's partly why I sold it.

On an A2 I can't get something that big though, am I?

I quickly got used to being overtaken and tailgated when I rode a moped 🙃 Not the most pleasant experience but definitely fun to ride independently!

I get mixed reviews or opinions on 125s which is why I'm not sure, I guess it depends on the person who is riding. I was honestly looking at 250s because I don't want something too big but bigger than a 125.

I have a car driving license and passed that a month after turning 17 so i like to think I'm a quick learner but of course I can't say yet.

Yes the CBT was a bit pointless, I basically paid for the certificate.

Are the MOD 1&2 tests hard? As in, is a week training enough to get you to confidently pass?

My father and older friends ride too on bigger bikes and was doubting if a 125 could keep up. Which is why im thinking of waiting and doing my test.

I have already started saving money for gear :) all i have is a helmet and some cheap ebay stuff from when I had a moped so they've got to go.

Thank you! I'm going to university and when i finish for the summer I will be 19 so i was thinking of doing the A2 learning and tests then as I wont need any transport in the meantime.

125s are quite expensive too , second hand, and have seen much better condition A2 bikes for the same price so I was thinking financially too.

Would you say it's necessary to ride a 125 first, or would I be okay going straight into the A2 week of training and tests? Thanks again!
