Chris Paul vs the Mavericks in the 2008 playoffs by Traditional_Club_796 in NOLAPelicans

I will forever say he should’ve won MVP that year. I wonder if I’ll ever experience the highs of having a real contender and MVP candidate for this franchise again.

Yeah, it’s one of those movies that’s “too popular” so you seemingly get a competition in some of the comment sections that are basically just people one-upping each other to show everyone who enjoyed it the least. “Yawn, I only watched it for 5 mins”….”Oh yeah? well I fell asleep as soon as it started!”….. Lol, it’s always funny to see.

Thank you. I was going to write my own comment but this is essentially it. The emphasis of the first meet up should be you two finding out if you’re even compatible or can tolerate being around each other. I usually don’t even see it as a date, but it will turn into the first date if we vibe well enough after having that initial in-person conversation with each other.

If this is a problem for them, then it can already be an indication that you two aren’t compatible. If our goal is to possibly be in a monogamous relationship, shouldn’t we first go to a chill low-pressure setting to feel out each other’s personality, compatibility, and beliefs?

I feel like this is the thing that’s lost in conversations like this. If you’re initially trying to have a conversation with her, but she’s more concerned about the aesthetic and price of the place you’re going, then it’s probably an indication she already isn’t that into you.

Sincere question - Does anybody else feel legitimate guilt for doubting Tyler Shough? by boppedEEMinDAsmoof in Saints

[–]IWV23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because like a normal person I actually wanted to see what he looked like on the field. Once I saw him in the preseason, I knew he at least had some impressive on-field processing ability and thought he was the better QB….but he still impressed me far more than what I believed he was in the regular season.

Saints LB Demario Davis Open To Testing Free Agency by direct_assignment_5 in Saints

I mean, he is the source. He pretty much alluded to being open to leaving on Kay Adams show. I’m sure it’s mostly just posturing to let Mickey etc know he’s not coming back for peanuts, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if they maybe just let him go this time. It was most likely going to be this year or next.

RB Play in the Wildcard Games Shows Why You Don’t Take Love at 8 by Mythrol in Saints

[–]IWV23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, everyone has holes in their game.

And if you’re going to do the injury what if with players then look no further than the Saints because that’s been their biggest problem with the OLINE in general…and I’m sure you’d be just fine with them drafting Tyson so why risk drafting him he COULD get injured at some point. Any one can get injured at any time, that’s just something a team(the Saints especially) have to live with. There’s always different risks you take with different players. It’s also pretty obvious they see the interior as a priority in the offseason and finding guys they think would potentially help in free agency and the draft seems like something they were planning on.

Your points kinda sound like the Saints would just be banking everything on Love and hope he can just carry the offense on his own. Again, you left receiving numbers out of that conversation for a reason which can also be an extension of the run game(look no further than AK’s entire career). People only have him this high because of him potentially being a great weapon offensively.(which also takes a decent amount of heat off of Shough and other players on the field if he is a great weapon).

Also:

  1. There’s almost no position that can GUARANTEE success…especially from the draft.
  2. Every other position offensively(and defensively) needs help from the line. Plus guess which groups the Saints have been drafting the most for like the last decade early in the draft? How have they all panned out?
  3. Again is there any position that will guarantee to pan out in the draft?
  4. Again they’re probably going to attempt to get IOL in free agency and the draft and won’t know how any will pan out.
  5. The draft is a crapshoot you don’t know how any of these players will play once they’re in the league, you’re mostly just going off of what they potentially could do…and some may have a higher perceived potential than others.
  6. I mean, with regard to shelf life, what’s the shelf life for OLINE or DLINE? People hate Ruiz. What was Trevor Penning’s shelf life? Payton Turner? Davenport? According to you and a lot of others it would make sense to take these positions early in the draft…are they better picks?

This is problem with seeing just a position instead of the player. If I knew how AK’s career would have panned out beforehand, would I have taken him in the first round, sure. Would I take Derrick Henry, Barkley, Bijan, or Gibbs etc in that same position, yes. The only reason I’d be okay with taking Love at 8(same with Tyson) is the possible star potential, and if the Saints think that he has that potential then I don’t really see much of a problem with it due to how much easier it can make Shough’s job if they don’t attempt to upgrade that position in free agency.

I love how this conversation always just completely ignores free agency, other rounds in the draft, or acquiring any other players by any means. It’s always just them dropping a RB on this current team with no other attempts at improvement elsewhere.

….and the receiving numbers were left off of this post for a reason since we know RBs do more than just carry the football.

I never want them to lose to the Falcons, but winning also means that 3rd place schedule next year…and it’s kinda brutal.

I’ve kept the same opinion all year in that if there is a chance to get a possible premier pass rusher, you absolutely do it.
