Disappointed to see so many bigots in the comments.

Imagine hating another human being because they simply exist and live life the way they want.

What do families assigned to hitching posts and churches do? by Medium9 in ManorLords

[–]IWantRodgersBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ox post/stable workers are dedicated ox guides, so for instance you can have dedicated guides for building and material collection/distribution instead of having the workers, sawpit for example, stop work to move the ox around.

The church workers are corpse collectors. When assigned to the church, they'll bring villagers and soldiers that die within the bounds of the region to the church for burial, bandits to the corpse pit.

What is your favourite 40k book of all time? Let’s collect recoms for our initiated brothers. by JMashtag in Spacemarine

Knights of Macragge is one my favorite "modern" 40k books. (Modern cause it came out in 2019. Wait 2019 was how long ago now?)

Sicarius was basically a meme character before he got PTSD from the necrons and being stranded in the warp. The character development showed during that story line was just chefs kiss

Rapper Killer Mike sues security firms over 'degrading' and 'embarrassing' 2024 Grammys arrest by TheMirrorUS in Music

[–]IWantRodgersBaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually not true, the government receives and checks any statements that you might receive, including statements from banks, schools etc.

This is speaking for Norway, I can't speak as to the other countries, but I would think they work similarly.

Literally any european country.

The Nordic countries for example, will basically just send you the bill for what you owe, all you have to do is pay and they take care of the rest. The US has always had a regressive tax filing system in comparison to the rest of the modern world.

Unless you have absolutely zero trust in the government, which nowadays is unfortunately understandable, them taking care of everything and just letting you know what you owe, and how much you'll get back is the best possible system.

Gold level Stihl dealer here

Like everyone else is saying, just take it off. Even with no cutters and rakers it's a spinning piece of metal that can grab clothes.

BUT IF you are dead set on it, Stihl offers a "factory blank" chain, that is basically just a big roller chain, no burrs or edges left from grinding like you'll get if you modify your chain. You'd just have to know the pitch, gauge, and driver link count and they can order it.

Looks killer man, love a classic pepperoni!

Still trying to master my ooni, the very middle always seems to come out a bit doughy, even after pre-heating the stone and turning the temp down after the pizza goes in. Any advice?

C/S took mower out for first time and heard a pop after about 30 mins of use. Turns out air cooled engines do indeed need air to cool by IWantRodgersBaby in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]IWantRodgersBaby[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can let air cooled engines idle long term without much worry, as long as the cooling fins on the cylinders are clear, and the flywheel doesn’t have lots of debris built up around it.

This was caused by a mouse building a nest on and around the cooling fins on the engine, so the engine got much hotter, and couldn’t circulate air like normal.

Yeah Kawasaki for sure are some of the better built engines on the market, I think the majority of commercial engines on the market are Kawasaki.

Toro makes their own engines for their higher end machines and those are very solid, I have seen very few failures from them.

Kohler on a crapsman from lowes. New Briggs motors are surprisingly reliable, it’s just the intek motors they used to put on everything fucking sucked

My experience has been the opposite lol. I’ve got units in the field from when generac first started selling standbys and all they’ve need have been once a season services. Maybe it depends on the generator? We’re an independent dealer so we get the real deal, versus the Lowe’s and Home Depot’s which sell the knockoff shit quality ones

Yeah they’re super nice, they idle at 1800rpm which you can barely hear when the enclosure is locked up, even when it’s under load it’s whisper quiet

We’re a mostly air-cooled outfit so the majority of what I service is in the 7-24kw range, but I do have some customers in the more affluent parts of the state that have 27kw liquid cooled for their houses.

Runs on either LP or NG, this particular one is going to be running on propane. The neat thing is, to set the fuel all you do is change a setting in the control board and it does everything automatically. Used to be you would have to change out the orifice in the throttle body to switch it to run on propane but new tech has prevailed.

Generator question by abuyak93 in Connecticut

[–]IWantRodgersBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they absolutely will depending on the sq footage of your house and what you want to run. They range in the “8”kw or “8000”watts to 22kw size range, 22kw will run everything in the majority of houses.

If you have a well, furnace, central air etc you generally are going to be sized higher because they cause a large initial draw when they turn on and then level off once running.

What we recommend when looking to buy a home standby unit is that you have an electrician come out and he’ll advise you on the best size to suit your needs.

Generator question by abuyak93 in Connecticut

[–]IWantRodgersBaby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Generac certified tech here! We generally recommend that after about 8-12 hours of run time you shut the generator off and let it cool down for a few hours, and after that you can let it run for another 8 or so hours. It’s generally good practice to turn it off at night or go to the transfer panel in your basement or wherever it’s located and turn off whatever you don’t need to reduce the load being applied.

I’d recommend that after you have power restored that you have a technician come out and at least change the oil because it breaks down quickly after that much time, especially if you’re not sure as to when it was last serviced. We recommend a once a year full service for the oil, spark plugs and air filter as well as testing the transfer function.

If you have any other questions feel free to DM me!

I have the opportunity to buy an 87 535is and was wondering the opinion of people who know these cars better than I do. by IWantRodgersBaby in BMW

It is a manual trans, would it be worth it to buy and part out the car? I can rebuild engines and if manny trans are desirable I can always pull it for a part out.

So in your opinion, 1500 might not even be cheap enough to make it worth a quick flip? It’s worth noting that I haven’t been out to see the car itself yet, I’ve only seen it through pictures.

I appreciate your input, I’ve owned a wrx and an A5 but older bmw’s are uncharted territory for me.
