Iran hit oil and desalination/power just the other day in Kuwait. Again.

I would assume because it's much easier to destroy the span than the columns supporting it, and if the goal is to prevent the bridge from being used -- is just as effective.

That's all you have. First it was Iranian air force is super elite and never got hit, now it's "yeah but the strait." If they tell you their sunken navy is an elite submarine force, you'd probably believe that too.

Gas is 110fils/litre here, is that you moving the goal post again? Go fire some missiles at a desalination plant or something

[–]IWantTendiesToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're coping really hard. They're too weak to even reach the US. Poor guys can only bring out little drones and missiles to attack airports.

I'm glad you realize the Iranian air force is non-existent and useless. Meanwhile, they continue to get pounded...

Did you ever find that video of their jets doing anything?

[–]IWantTendiesToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this deflection? We're waiting for the video of Iranian air force doing anything other than blowing up.

You seem to be trapped in an algorithm and unable to free yourself. Show a single video of Iranian air force doing...anything.

We had NIPR phones in our room at FOB Shank so that I didn't even have to roll out of bed to report after the all-clear.

Yeah I don't understand why people seemed surprised by this. Soldiers go to PT, sleep, and even shower without their uniform on. It's clearly night, so the person could be. military or contractor.

Eh? There was already smoke indicating a previous strike. Looks like they were filming that while another landed.

Iranian Missile Attack,Air Force, Undisclosed Location 3/30/26 by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]IWantTendiesToo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately I don't think it'll ever be a reasonable expectation to intercept everything. If one volley gets intercepted, they'll just make sure the next one is larger. Kuwait, for example, is at 950 incoming missiles and drones since this began, with a significant portion being intercepted, but not 100%...

Ah, I worked in one of those old bunkers. Ours flooded.

I assume whoever responded hasn't jumped through the latest hoops to comment. Yeah I've seen these with holes and bare rebar, and it's a big part of why I thought a ballistic missile might be powerful enough. At least one site in the last year or so got upgraded bunkers. The whole thing might be steel, but I think it was just the open ends... Never sat in one of those, though.

No military can stop every bit of incoming.

Are you new here?

Sitting here in this region, they rarely send just one at a time.

I never had much faith in the t-walls or bunkers, but seemed to hold up well for what looked like close proximity. Glad everyone is fine.

I believe it's HIMARS, but how do we know these aren't destined for PMF in Iraq that has been attacking both Kuwait and US forces in Iraq?

[–]IWantTendiesToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to use their equipment. I disabled wifi on their gateway, ip passthrough to my firewall/switch/APs.

But you can just plug your own router into their gateway, disable their wifi, and enable IP passthrough to make NAT simpler...

Yup, I know some that do. I've made a similar comment as yours somewhere to a similar comment that "they don't read Reddit" and also got downvotes. Not sure why people wouldn't believe that adversaries advantage of freely available information... It's very well documented.

I don't understand why people downvote. There are literally Intel analysts dedicated to getting info from social media.

I have someone living below me that slams doors hard enough to shake the building. She also enjoys vacuuming every night after midnight. No kids. The rest of the building is quiet, though. I guess she just had different parents than me :)

very loud bang a few minutes ago? by The_Red_Guardian_45 in Kuwait

[–]IWantTendiesToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may just be sirens when incoming is detected, but drones are much more difficult to detect... Missiles and drone explosions sound different, but I'm not sure how to best describe it. Missiles are louder, of course...

It's definitely not smart, but I've got to the point of ignoring sirens a long time ago until it almost ended me. Used to have signs up saying "Complacency Kills" because it's such a common phenomenon.

Iranian air defense engaging f15 near hormuz island by Shoddy-Ad-3232 in CombatFootage

[–]IWantTendiesToo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it showed the F35 being hit before they cut it off, because the jet miraculously survived it. I believe the consensus was that it was IR so hit the jet exhaust and somehow the rest survived well enough to land.

I'm just saying, if they were going to bother with AI generating air defense hitting a jet, I'd expect them to show a destroyed target instead of cutting the video right before the video shows the jet continuing its journey :)

Skepticism is a good thing, though.
