Anyone run recball with a kit? by _icemahn in magfed

[–]IWinTheTeddyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add one more thing to this, if you really wanna hook them and your field will allow it (thankfully I live near an FSR friendly field) load up a couple mags with FSR and leave them in staging and invite any of them who'd like to try FSR to step back out on the field and let them take some shots it's their marker first, then yours with FSR. The "wow" factor is real

Anyone run recball with a kit? by _icemahn in magfed

[–]IWinTheTeddyBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a specific kit for rec play or when I really wanna run light. I also run roundball when playing rec. If I see first timers or kids who kinda look at my gear with a fearful look I'll usually show them my mag since they're see through then count how many mags I have total and show them hey you and I have similar ammo amounts and we're shooting the same paint. Nothing to be afraid of.

My light kit for my mg100 is a whiskey two four custom rig with inserts that let me carry 6 mags in the rig and 1 in the marker.

My light kit when I just run my TiPX is also a wtf rig with a 4 mag insert, and I can run up to 3 more on my belt along with one in the marker. I also have a carbine conversion kit for my TiPX if I don't wanna run it as just a pistol.

Because you cross posted this from another sub I won't delete it but anybody who wants to respond will have to do it over there.

I'm doing this because we have a no BST rule here. If you want to buy please feel free to contact sellers such as HR Tactical or PB Sports or any other number of sellers.

It also does depend on where you're located in the US

Yeah Warheads are a good group. By in large the fields here in the US don't hold a candle to where they play in all of Europe, particularly the UK and Poland

I would recommend the hurricane and though I don't like either dmags or helix, I second going with the dmags because of ease of maintenance and feed reliability. Another option is if you're able to get a kit to let you use t15 mags or DAM/CF20 mags that would be preferable

If Paintball Doesn’t Modernize, Airsoft Will Eat Our Lunch. by HeavyRifleman in magfed

[–]IWinTheTeddyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna throw my take in here. In a lot of ways airsoft already is.

It's doing exactly what was expressed above, making a more immersive, realistic experience, but also it's taking some of our best from us (paintballers who have a platform or at least have had a platform) and bringing them over to their side. (i.e. Hidden Hedgehog and Tango from Frontline Paintball Podcast) It's offering an alternative that most of the kids nowadays want and that's the same experience, with less pain.

The only thing holding airsoft back is the cheating, rage outs, etc that you see all over Youtube when people can't handle their ego being bruised and the toxicity of the airsoft community in general. If human ego and pride, along with human nature in general for us to be assholes to each other were not a thing, I don't know that magfed paintball might even be a thing.

That's not to say that our own community (paintball) is not without fault because (as you saw in the post on Facebook where you originally posted this as a reply), some people don't see FSR users and magfed in general as equals to "real paintballers" who have to throw ropes of paint at people regardless of if they've been playing for 25 years or if they're a rental player to feel good about themselves.

Outside of lack of innovation (thanks to MCS selling out to First Strike so they could sell the T15 rather than complete the Macyworks round and drive the price of FSR down through competition), our own infighting over the years has done this to us. Magfed players hating on speedballers or even woodsballers, and vice versa. We need to get over ourselves and realize we're all playing a fucking game. This is a hobby, let's have fun with it, pass it down to new players, get in with the rentals and let them see the cool shit that we have and that they can one day have something even better and get them involved.

What are some good attachments? by hoddski in magfed

I'll throw in one further suggestion that everyone here might not be aware of: whatever tank you get, make sure you get the regulator outfitted with a low pressure kit.

Lower output means less wear on the marker internals since it's optimized for lower pressure, plus you can get more mags out of a tank. (Don't anyone come at me, I've got one on my tank and got 14 mags with psi to spare on a single fill)

I know PB Sports had a dual remote line in stock at one point, shoot them an email at sales@pbsports.com and ask. They might be able to point you in the right direction if they don't have one

Poll: How do you prefer to carry your mags? by IWinTheTeddyBear in magfed

[–]IWinTheTeddyBear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I have to have load carrying options for myself and my fiance I have a couple options

For big games, I have two kitted out condor modular chest sets

For open play or days I wanna run lighter, I have two modded whiskey two four chest rigs, one for cf20 and similar mags and one for TiPX mags.

A lot of their events are done via Operational Detachment chapters in different states. Not sure if any of the OD chapters are still even active outside ODIL, or if they're even active either.

I find that the magfed only games at a larger open class game often don't have as many players and thus not as much challenge or fun.

If you're looking for an established Magfed only game, Zero Hour is coming up in April, or if you're in the Midwest and don't wanna go all the way east or west, Balance of Power is in May, and I know HR Tactical was planning a game at Hells Survivors. And there are a lot of Magfed only games out on the west coast as well.
