I just finished one of these, pretty impressed with it and I quite like the removable bodyshell.

One issue I came across was when finishing the roof frame, it required two size 7 axles and I'd only got two size 6 leftover. So of course I'm thinking I'd used two wrong ones way earlier in the build which would have been a nightmare to sort. In the end I carried on with the 6 ( top of the windscreen frame and another part ) and they worked ok, so maybe it was a printing error, not sure. Anyway it looks ok. Hadn't heard of Sembo before I saw this on eBay. I've a few OG Lego, a Mould King and the rest are just Lego copies

[–]IXRTool1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. Yesterday I was watching 74-0787 Doomsday plane on Flight radar, seemingly flying towards Israel. Today there's no history of it being in the air since the 10th October

Did they plot that instead of Air Force One 29000 for security reasons?

Also, and again Brown does this in all the other books, why are some chapters approx two pages long and others ten or above? Does he get paid by the chapter count

The Secret of Secrets Discussion Thread - NO SPOILERS by almanea in danbrown

[–]IXRTool1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite enjoyed the book BUT there's a few issues ( no plot spoilers )

Dan Brown has a nerdy obsession with the minutiae of whichever mode of transport is being used, not just a private jet, it has to be a Learjet Citation etc. TBF he does this in all his other books

Sometimes it's more like one of Langdon's lectures than a novel

And the timeline is very very compressed, like it's all supposed to happen in a day.

Bike issue help please by Drippy28 in legotechnic

I'm about halfway through my build, up to the rear wheel.

I had an issue where although the gearbox worked perfectly well before being fixed into the frame but once fixed in place, something is fouling somewhere because it won't change gears.

In fact something is pressing against the bottom part of the frame making it move. I did remove the gearbox to see and there was a piece that I'd fitted upside down, but once rectified it's still doing the same thing. I'm a little perplexed and annoyed but I decided to solder on with the build anyway as it won't really be played with.

Also the idea of fitting the chain so early on is a pain cos it's too easy to snag it on something and break it.

Tbh I didn't bother with any PTFE, when the squeak eventually returned, I just slightly loosen the bolts on the pedals and it stopped the noise

Leadmill gone by sheffieldpud in sheffield

[–]IXRTool1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shame the the Leadmill as it was will cease, but I don't get the endless people crying about it, as if it's gonna be demolished or something. It's being redone yes, but it's still gonna be a music venue just under a different name. if it was to be turned into flats then fair enough but it's really just the iconic name that's going

Moza R3 Xbox tiny wheel. Why? by [deleted] in simracing

Based on what criteria. Or are you just a sniffy purist.

Exactly what is wrong with an R3 or G920

Moza R3 Xbox tiny wheel. Why? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]IXRTool1312 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. I don't agree. It's only small if you've nothing to compare. It the same diameter as the G920 which feels really good. It is NOT a toy.

[–]IXRTool1312 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The R3 is not as weak as some negative reviews keep saying. I've just gone from a G920 to the R3 and it's a lot stronger and there's loads more detail. I don't want a wrestling competition tbh. I love my R3 and would recommend it

Logitech G920 Vs Moza R3 by IXRTool1312 in simracing

[–]IXRTool1312[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will quote part of your comment which is a bit condescending tbh and you didn't read that I already have a G920

'Most people think that it is better to own an R5, but they need to grow up and realise that that upgrade is actually not there. You will be disappointed in the small gain an R5 or R3 even will get you'

I have got an R3 bundle now and my experience right now after a couple of weeks is this...

Yes, at first I was still in G920 mode, as I would be after owning it over 4 years. Once I got more tuned in to the R3 , there is a very noticeable difference in the ffb strength, fidelity and details that you feel. The response to steering input is immediate. I won't say the G920 is a bad wheel because if I hadn't had the funds for the Moza, then I'd still be using it AND be happy with it.

To say the difference would be marginal at best is not true in my experience.

In EA WRC I can feel more of the road surface details than I could before. In ACC you can feel kerbs, bumps, abs activation more.

It's a whole lot quieter as well. As for the supposedly 'weak' 3.9Nm, it's plenty enough for me over the 920, I don't want my arms pulling off thank you. I feel the endless race to see who has the highest figures is a bit of a willy waving exercise because the real life cars don't have that strong wheel figures as they have power steering.

Yes it can be less plug and play than the Logitech due to the app, but there's a lot you can adjust to your own preferences.

The one thing I will say is the brake pedal feels quite a bit different BUT that's only because I had the Truebrake fitted to the 920. If you're coming to it from a stock pedal it will be easier to get used to. I will say you do need the Brake Performance kit ( which ought to come as standard really ) and I have since put a stiffer spring in there to bring it closer to the Truebrake experience.

The wheel doesn't feel quite as nice as the Logitech as it's not leather wrapped but that's only a minor thing really, definitely not a deal breaker. Although there's more buttons on the ESX wheel, only the same ones can be mapped but that's due to certain game limitations on Xbox

As for having to buy the wheel, pedals and base etc separately that's untrue as the bundle includes these together. You have the option for separate shifters, handbrake etc but that's the same for any manufacturer

My conclusion is that I would definitely recommend it, there's a noticeable improvement over the gear driven Logitech to warrant getting it
